Just a little side note. Topped off my fuel tank today.

    ok, carry on.

Fit, you could make it, but you could also possibly contaminate the brake fluid with oil.

Would probably be pretty easy to make your own with a couple gauges and some line.

Has anyone here been able to get a low grumble V8 sound out of their 4.7L at idle?

I'm kind of curious if it's possible and what exhaust system would do it. I had a 87 IROC Z28 with the 305 V8 making a beautiful grumble next to me at the light and I kind of want it now. :D

I'd definitely do this! On the horrid fakebook group where the 14WA brake upgrade fist came out, soft pedal feel was a reported problem and everyone who has done the T100 MC has had it work. I think it's one of those things that sounds harder than it is.

I think the earlier gens had more of a problem with soft pedal and the double cabs had the least (from my anecdotal factbook stalking)

Incredibly frustrating for sure. I chased my soft brakes for years and it's better now, but not great. Truck stops great and does not require the "double pump". Think it's characteristic of these trucks. Adding the larger diameter pistons of the 14's may be amplifying it. But like you said, I would be hesitant to go chasing a different MC and adding more confusion to it. If brakes are dragging slightly and the parking brake works great, then they sound like they are well adjusted. If your getting proper early engagement of the rears, then it sounds like the LSPV is properly adjusted. If not, playing with that may help, or switching the the manual adjustment like the ones they have at Summit may help. Someone else here is running that and said it worked great. If after all that it's still too soft, I would suspect air trapped in the lines somewhere. Just sounds like you've been down all these roads and aren't getting a good result. Makes the master cylinder plausible, but the fact that it holds on the second pump makes me doubtful there.

Still trying to find caliper piston sizes, but on pirate4x4 someone mentioned double cabs had 3/4” MC and AC has the 13/16” MC, which throws off my assumptions. I thought my 13/16” MC was because my truck came with 13we’s and the sequoias 7/8” MC was for the WL. And the 14wa trucks got a 15/16” MC.

so, i dont know. I guess i got some things to learn.

So no way around ditching the CATs? I cannot imagine this guy idling at the light next to me didn't have them since it's illegal not to have them here.

You can keep the cats, or go high flow aftermarket cats. It kills the sound a little though.

I have yet to hear a v8 (in a street car) that sounded better than the LS in my M3.
The secret sauce was longtubes that merged right after the bellhousing and then single out the back. No cats, one [pretty long] glasspack right after the merge, then a chambered Thrush just before the twin tips. I built it from the merge back in my garage with pieces off big gurrl and my metal-glue machine.

No mine is the normal MC. I don't think they introduced that stability control MC until 2005. Those fuckers are like $1,200!?

Your decripion of that made me laugh. I have wondered many times if air is trapped in that maze of lines that runs to the other side of the engine by. I wish there was a bleeder valve on the ABS module.

From the lspv theres 3 lines (no stability control) one from the mc under pressure, one to the axle, but where does the 3rd go? Id have thought it vented extra fluid back to the res, but it looks like it ties into the rear mc line… when i was troubleshooting i was worried i had air in there, but when i jacked the truck up in 4hi and felt the fronts dragging evenly i correctly assumed the mc was letting fluid past. Alls well, so im not worried, but im still interested what the 3rd line from the lspv does.

IDK, I think most of the exhausts I hear are somewhat too muted at idle. I'm not sure if it's the CATs causing that or something else.

Yeah, I love that sound as well. You can get that with the aftermarket cams like the "big mutha thumpr" cam I've noticed.

Both of these obviously have no CATs...

Here's my punk ass, late 20s, making the first turnover on my very 1st LS1 swap, stuffing LS1 + T56 into a '68 pickup. Drivetrain came out of an '01 WS6 if I recall. My VW GTI makes a cameo at the end. I ended up marrying the woman in there b/c she never failed to put up with my shit.

This is with stock 1998 F-body manifolds, cats on, which may sound weird, but there were reasons. Funny enough, loud dude in the video is a friend I used to wrench with that's since moved away to build out Google's TV division, then moved to running Google's gaming stuff. Fellow gearhead that landed in the tech field.

My moms ‘98 z/28 sounded great with no rear cats, and a moroso spiralflow. That car ran 12.8 with a stock slushbox and 245 tires. But that run it was partially gutted (but we left the t-tops on).

Nyet. Engine and trans were tuned. And some granetelli bits to help weight transfer. That run might have been after the 3400 stall tc, but im thinking that run was before the wreck when mom was in the middle of a 4 car pileup. The camaro’s nose said ‘saturn’ but inverted for years.
