    Hi Tundras,

I recently traded in my 2012 Toyota Tacoma for my new 2015 Toyota Tundra XP Crewmax. I don't know much about the vehicle or what the XP version is supposed to come with or how it should look stock. I would like to learn more about that to see what all has been done to my truck by the original owner.

Anyhow, I'm from Alabama, age 32, and now that I've got my dream truck, finally, I'm ready to build it up like I want. I've attached a picture of my Tundra as it sits now. I've also attached a picture of what I'm wanting it to look like. I just need to know what lift I need and if my rims will look as good if I just go with a bigger tire, or if I should just get new rims and tires. Would be great if I could use the ones I currently have.

    All help appreciated.

That looks like at least a 10 inch lift. So bulletproof lift will be your best option. Kinda hard to tell with your first pic but looks like your current wheels dont stick out much so youll need spacers or new rims with lower offset to stick out like the 2nd.

Thank you all for the nice greetings! I'm in Dothan "circle city". So to achieve that look, I will need to get a 10 inch lift, spacers, and if you think my rims will be fine, I just need some bigger tires? I'm of course going to let a shop do all of this for me, but just wanting to get an idea of what type of money I'm going to have to put out. I'm also concerned about lifting it, because I don't know if that will hinder me pulling my 19 foot travel trailer. Thank you for the feedback!

I just noticed your name "War Eagle"... we're gonna have to do something about that. lol
Relocate to Dothan? Are you okay? Haha just messin, it's not a bad place if you're into the small town thing. I've had my Tundra for like 2 weeks now maybe. I had my Tacoma for over a year. I recently purchased a travel trailer, which is why I ended up trading in the Tacoma for this Tundra. It pulls SO much better.

That's what I was afraid of. It would have been nice to not have to shell out for rims - I know they're expensive for trucks. I'm sure the wife would let me put a little money into the truck, but I'm not sure how much, so I'd like to avoid the wild for sure. haha

Yep, the Auburn//Alabama rivalry is always fun each year. We all bleed crimson in this household!

It was probably the truck I now own. I was told my the guys at Tri-State that the guy that owned it added the brush guard and tool box and then was going to add a level kit. I'll have it pretty decked out soon. I got it from the dodge place by the way. While I was there I also bought my wife a 2017 Jeep Renegade Desert Hawk.

Rehobeth is a nice area, but it's definitely been feeling up. All kinds of new neighborhoods that way. We're off flowers chapel.

Wait, can't pump your own gas? Huh?

Welcome from Las Vegas!! Nice truck....good choice on towing over a Taco however, personally, I wouldn't tow with a 10-12 inch lift, that's just me though.

Do you think a 6-8 inch lift would be more suitable? I'm not an expert with trucks, especially in doing anything to them. I've always been a car guy, so your advice wouldn't fall on deaf ears. I'm just wanting to jack the truck up to give it that big and mean look, but I must still be capable of towing my trailer. Can I have the cake and eat it too?

Thank you. We haven't had it long. My grandpa used to take me camping in a popup when I was younger. He passed about a year ago, and I wanted to pass on the experience to my kids. So yea, we randomly went to camping world and picked one up. We were probably in over our heads, but it has been fun learning how things work. We are actually on our second trip right now with it in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. Do you have a camper, any advice you can give? Haha

To be honest our teardrop probably isn't in your class, but if you haven't already, look into solar charging panels. No better way to be off the grid =)

I just looked up "teardrops", and wow, those are cool! Hey, I'm perfectly fine with that type of camping, but my kids would require more room. haha! awesome setup for sure though!

My mouth dropped and eye lids went up when I read those numbers. Umm, yea, definitely wouldn't ever spend that much. I haven't searched around at prices on lifts, but it would be really nice to stay around $1K or maybe a little more. After looking around, I'm thinking a 6 to 8 inch lift will do it with bigger rims and tires. Any suggestions?
