I got my ARE Z from Catamount in Burlington a few weeks back. Same deal with the paint. I want the truck to last so I'm not messing around with the road salt... although it's Vermont so they don't salt near as much as any of the neighboring states. It's as if they feel like there has to be SOME snow on the road! lol

 

I don't but can get you some, or make you one $ . It's 1/4" stainless rod welded on to a tab that bolts to an arm that swivels, that the actuator moves. I have angle guides screwed on the edges of the door by the sides of the cap. Pretty simple, but as any lock, only keeps honest people out. I wired to my DIY pop and lock , so it unlocks with the tailgate/passenger door. DM if you have any other questions.

 

I have had a cap on a previous tundra. I am already sold on this idea, design, and ability to move it by myself.

This what I was told as well.

 

Just had SnugTop Rebel installed. Was told 6-8 week wait when ordered. Arrived in 3.5 to Canopy World, Tacoma.
Opted for the fold up front window w struts. Auto latch on hatch operates with truck’s FOB. $2800 out the door.

 

I have been curious on when these would be sold in the United States. I have only been able to locate one vender which is Venture Outfitters. So much for being around $1600-1800...This would have been nice but it costs more than I am paying for my ARE Topper. $3792.99 for the Droprack.

Just ordered a Snug top Sport Hi-liner for my DC. The cost and lead time is horrifying but I plunked down a deposit anyways. Hopefully it comes before Spring is all the way over.

 

I am still thinking about, all though ARE and leer faster I like the snugtop rebel with the 500lbs capacity but the lead time is like 3 months.

 

What's the 500 lb capacity for?

Yeah I was quoted an ARE shell by mid April. Decided to go Snugtop based on a few things but they just generally seem nicer to me and I prefer how they're mounted to the bed by a long shot. The rebel looks so slick! You really can't beat that aesthetic.

I decided I needed the extra height to sit up in with a mattress on top of a Decked drawer set. So Sport Hi-Liner it is.

 

The sportsman package for a roof top tent and awning. They look more aesthetic for me compare to ARE. You ordered it in Austin?

 

Yes I ordered it at Texas Truck and Trailer. Only SnugTop dealer in Austin.

 

Looking for a cap for a double cab if anyone in the NC area has one they’re looking to sell…magnetic gray metallic, my goal is to join that with a decked system! Looking for that too

Finally got the call that my ARE CX Evolve came in. Got it installed and I put my BedRug in afterwards. Got the drop down sliding interior front window, Windoors on both sides, carpeted roof, and roof rails. Buy once cry once as I always say. Cost me a pretty penny but no regrets. Still have to wait on keyless entry since ARE forgot to send parts for it.

 

That is exactly what I want to do with my truck! Looks awesome! I just need to find a used one…or pull the trigger on a new one!. Nice truck!

 

Thanks, I appreciate the compliments. I looked for a color matched one for a DC for a while but couldn’t find one. Crewmax more popular. I just went ahead and ordered what I wanted and didn’t compromise. Good luck with your search.

 

Can you order just the keyless entry stuff from ARE? I have tried a few things so far that I found online and nothing has worked because the kit I got was not compatible with my ARE topper.
