Yep finally ordered mine too, can't wait til they get shipped

 

Hate I missed the sale, been wanting these for a while and just got back around to looking. Is the auto-level adjuster mandatory? My truck has a switch for level adjustment but honestly I’ve never noticed a difference when messing with it. Trying to make sure I get the right ones.

 

If I'm not mistaken, the auto leveling alpharex pros are discontinued

How many people have upgraded the AlphaRex Pro low beams to LED? Do you like it? Which LED did you choose?

I just put in some of the PRO version of these and my turn signals hyperflash. Is this something that has to be dealt with separately or is there possibly something wrong with the lights I got?

I'm also wondering why there's an extra 3 pin plug on the headlights themselves that doesn't seem to go to anything, but it will plug into one of the other 3 pin plugs on the headlights themselves.

 

Man it takes talent to totally skip a step!

 

Bumping up...I don't have an answer or any insight, but I do have the same question. Hopefully someone can chime in. On the Alpharex website they only state halogens, so I'm curious how well the LED "upgrade" option works out...

 

I have had the Pros for 6 months with the VLED H7s and I think they perform well with good cutoff.

That doesn't look terrible at all. In your opinion, how's the lighting directly in front? The bottom right corner looks a little darker, but I'm sure there are tradeoffs with the halogen projectors and LED bulbs (I ran a similar combination in my 2017 Highlander with the stock projectors and thought it was much better than the halogens).

 

To me the light output up front is better then it was with the OEM halogens. I have not ran halogens in the Alphas to compare apples to apples tho.

 

It definitely looks nice and bright. I'm weighing several options right now...and of course cost vs. performance is a big one. In an ideal world, I'd just be tossing in the Sequoia OEM lights...but I've got too many other projects on the go right now to drop that much on headlights.

 

I just put the Pro’s on mine and installed some HID’s. Very impressed! This pic was right after I put them on and had not aimed them. I haven’t taken a pic after aiming yet, but even on a sloped driveway the un-aimed pic gives you a pretty good idea of the potential.

 

Any concerns with the added heat of the HIDs? I have a used set of Spiders I picked up cheap, and the front lens has a little hot spot/lump from what I'm guessing were HID bulbs installed. Curious how these hold up over time with HIDs. I've done HIDs in the past and wouldn't be against them.

 

No problems so far, and I've had a lot of cars with HIDs that never had a problems. I copied the setup from another poster on this thread, but they were HYLUX 2A88 35W / 5000K / H7A from Light Werkz. Not sure about your Spiders, but I know there are 50W ballasts options, and maybe that's what your Spiders had in them creating too much power/heat.

I too weighed the Sequoia headlights, but the total price was hard to stomach given the other mods I need/want for the truck. These lights came from Ebay for $275 and then another $119 for the HID's, so I feel like I don't have much to lose if they don't last.

 

Fair enough...a little bit of research tells me HIDs actually run cooler than LEDs...which doesn't seem to make logical sense, but I guess the fact that they come with huge heatsinks is a tip-off.

 

Anyone know why I'm not getting the start up sequence, my drl strip is amber and my hi beams not coming on? Everything that should be connected is connected far as I know.

 

My high beams didn’t work.. Also thought everything was connected? But the from the plugs from lights the wouldn’t quite “click” in place. I had to slightly bend the pins out then they connected properly.

 

Dang, gonna try to inspect that tomorrow, already gave up for today put everything back together...

Yea I'm reading back through this thread.. also forgot to mention my sequential turn not working either, just the turn bulb blinks

 

I just bought some Alpharex pros for my 2008 Tundra. They look great, but when I start the engine the white DRL’s turn amber and stay amber as I drive. Also when I remote start the timing on the startup show is off and the driver side glows amber while the passenger side glows white. I know it’s the harness because I unhooked it and the lights work fine without the bright DRL always on. Here is a picture of the lights when the engine is on and driving.
Does anyone have this problem? Is there a way to fix it so I can have the white halos while driving, like they should be? I’m thinking it’s a faulty harness and I should just return it for another one.

I reinstalled the harness/lights three times, I know I installed it right.

 

Pay extra close attention to this detail in the sequential. This is the problem I had until I figured out the correct way to plug in those turn signal harnesses.
