OME Greasable Pins For Frame Side

I got OME greasable shackles. They came w/ 3 sets of greasable bushings for each spring (2 go in the spring & the 3rd goes into the truck side of the shackle) & 2 greasable pins for the shackle side plus the actual shackles. Looks like I need to order greasable pins for the frame side. If you've installed this kit, what pins did you buy for the frame end or did you just use the stock bolt?

I've installed dakar leafs with greaseable shackles, and reused the OEM bolt for the pivot nearest the cab.

I did call ARB after installing it and they do sell a greaseable pivots. I wish they would have told me that before I installed it but oh well, its an easy replacement once the leafs are in.

 

I figured since I already have the greasable bushing I may as well get the greasable pins. I can't seem to find anywhere that says this is the pin you need for a Tundra on the frame end. I found them but haven't a clue which length I need or how much $ they are?

 

Dobinson's sells them too but they appear out of stock.

 

Any idea if the Dobinsons still use the bolt sleeve between the bushing & bolt or if the greasable bolt directly contacts the bushing?

 

They say they're a replacement for all 3 locations so I'm assuming they only work with their bushings or maybe a drilled/channeled bolt sleeve? I haven't dug in too much yet but my creaking shackles are getting annoying.

 

Did you replace the pins on cab/frame side? I’m in the same boat currently. want to be able to grease the bushings.
Dobinson advised their greasable pins SHOULD work with OME as they are made to factory toyota spec.

 

Yes, these pins fit the fixed end of the leaf springs.

But to get grease inside the bushing, and on the OD of the sleeve, you'll need to drill the sleeves you have. I don't think OME bushing sleeves are drilled for the grease to get inside there.

 

Thanks. Don't really want to do any drilling. Do you think it's worth it? The poly bushings were greased well on install, I was just thinking I could extend their lifespan by making them greaseable with these pins.

 

The front pins are under a lot of stress as they keep the axle in place. For this reason, not sure you should want to replace them with the greasable hollow pins. Just my .02

 

That position doesn't get a whole lot of movement. If you get in a lot of wet stuff and mud, then it would be worth it. Otherwise the grease you put in should stay in place for a long time.

If you put these in without drilling the sleeve, you're just getting grease between the OD of the bolt and ID of the sleeve, which would only prevent rust and nothing else really.

Dobinsons now offer replacement greasable shackles for the 2007-2021 Tundra. They go with the PB59-1102K poly bush kit. They don't add any lift, just the ability to grease the bushings for the smoothest operation.
