^^^ I do not know why you would want to lift the body!! When the tires and wheels are what keeps you off stuff!!! The last paragraph above in the first sentence.. lifted vehicles look nice but without a bigger tire and wheel combo you will not get any clearance Clerance!!!

to get huge tires I reckon you have to have lift but to just get a few inches I have seen and it has been stated you can get a decent set of tires/wheels without modification. Don’t blow a gasket anyone!!!!:)

    Too many, but not enough....
34 inch tires will get you an inch, plus 2.5 inch from bilstein shocks. Spacers do suck especially on rough roads.

I don’t understand why people keep saying that. It depends what kind of terrain you’re on. You can only put on so big a tire on a tundra. If you’re high centering often, lifting the body along with the axles help quite a bit. Especially on a long wheelbase truck like ours. I’m on 37’s and I still high center pretty often.

Just a thought, the entire truck is usually in motion at all kinds of angles when said gears and bearings are in rotation. So how does the diff drop cause oiling issues?

Might slowly relocate some rocks to the biggest holes on the trail as time permits to make it easier and cheaper to solve the fishing hole access issue.

Yes and a long wheel base is not the best for off road in as far as crawling over STUFF!!:). Buy a really cheap Vega and cut the fenders off with a torch and put on tractor tires!!!!:) That’s the ticket!
    Best of luck to ya.:)

Tires and what it takes to fit them. Probably best advice out there.

A few options if you need to lift the body to clear the tires.

But, asking your mechanic is a great idea as if he's local and off roads he probably has good advice.

And any local 4x4 shops. Tell them up front your waiting on funds then ask away.
And ask them to match prices in case of issues down the road you'll have somebody in your corner.

my guy usually hooks me up pretty good and then let's me make very low payments, gonna go with 275/70 18, just got the extra inch as i need new tires anyway, then we'll talk about lifting and going oversize.

thanks everybody for the input and advice, it was much more informative starting a thread than it was trying to read through the forums
    thanks again

You really don’t need a lift for 275/70, they will look great at stock height
