9 speaker 2022 Tundra

I’m waiting for my 22’ limited LR TRD Off road and doesn’t come with JBL but does have 14” screen….. can anyone with no -JBL tell me how it sounds or will I be upgrading later on.

 

I have a related question -- Is the non-JBL 14" just an 8" electronics with a bigger screen? Never mind the electrical outlets, etc. that come with the premium audio.

 

I know 8” screen come in sr and sr5 models but 14” comes both JBL and non-JBL

 

Yes. Same tech bigger screen. Has nothing to do with sound system or plug ins.

 

I had a JBL system in my 2020 Tacoma and it sounded great, my 2022 SR5 Tundra has the optional 14" 9 speaker infotainment system, non JBL. Sounds really good, but not as much base as the JBL system.

 

Lol I’m Trading in my 18’ limited crew with JBL…. Might be only thing I’m gonna miss….

 

The JBL in my 2021 1794 has zero base. I don't care for window rattling but I do want full sound. I'm about to install a LC2i audio controller and a powered sub.

 

I have a 8” screen non-JBL here…not much base but doesn’t bother me much (some music, sports radio, podcasts mostly)

…if I am not mistaken the JBL on these 22 comes with a subwoofer that’s mounted behind one of the rear seats? Thought I read somewhere on here folks seemed generally pleased

 

I have the non-JBL stereo. Sound is great. I'd like a little more volume, but overall sound quality is very good. Bass is fine for not having a sub.

 

My 2021 Platinum JBL has the same issue. My buddy's 2011 Limited rocks 5x better. It's the main issue with contemplating a trade.

 

I had an '18 Limited CM with JBL, and it was terrible. Sold it for a '22 Limited CM with JBL, and it is like night and day. Sounds a LOT better. I am somewhat of an "audiophile" and am very pleased with the improvement.

 

In my 2017 I did an upgrade and installed Alpine speakers in the doors and a 10” Pioneer sub under the rear passenger seat on the drivers side.
The 2022 Tundra that I’m waiting for has the JBL 12 speaker system so I am hoping that I don’t have to do any audio upgrades.

 

Not to high jack the thread but anyone have a speaker wire diagram? Not having a lot of luck finding one on the forum or elsewhere.
