    Lol

Have you ever driven a parallel hybrid?
The electric motor is almost never used in cruising. I don’t know if the Tundra will have this but the Ford powerboost has a monitor showing what’s driving the wheels and usually it’s the gas engine. We saw from the TFL video with their 22 Tundra that max engine torque is not needed when climbing I70’s 6% grade.

EDIT: I understand what you’re trying to say but these powertrains have energy management software that tries to keep the hybrid battery at a consistent state of charge. So I doubt there will be many instances where the battery is completely depleted.

Don't get defensive, I was agreeing with you.
It's impossible to drain the hybrid assist battery. Yup

Except that this hybrid is set up differently than most if not all others by being between the engine and transmission if I understood it correctly.

Yep, Tundra hybrid is very different from THS like in the Prius but it’s not really a new system. Porsche came out with the same type of parallel hybrid system in the Cayenne in 2010. Electric motor was sandwiched between the engine and trans. There are quite a few cars with this type of tech, mostly German, and a few supercars too (Porsche 918, Mclaren P1, etc.).

Especially since it still has a screw on / off cap from the 70's.

I'm ok with the screw on cap and I'd settle for a locking gas door like every vehicle other than full size trucks has gotten since the 80s if not longer.

Daughter saw a new Limited and said the taillights are not bright at all, the interior seems to have a lot of room, the the suspension place where it is at is having a time trying to get auto Amp Steps put on it because of the redesign of the underneath. The company said the only thing that has gone decent is tinting the windows!!:)

All 3 of my local dealers didn't get a single Tundra allocated this time. Not sure if that's just a coincidence or if it was a nationwide thing.

I’m thinking of changing my platinum order to a lunar rock TRD Sport SR5. That sport is the best looking, but damn it’s missing some good features I don’t want to give up.

I'd be ok with Limited+ but really want the SR5 TRD Sport above all.

I’m willing to give up some things.

Yeah I want the limited Or in lunar rock but it has too much chrome.

I really want the TRD sport in lunar . It’s so good looking. I might do it. SR5 holds value better than platinum anyways

I'm holding out hope further testing of a production iForceMax yields better results than the Car and Driver testing.

Awesome news about the remote start. Hated that on my 2020 Tundra Limited and the wife's 2019 XSE Camry. And now on the 2021 Highlander Limited. Always thought that was stupid. Finally, Toyota

Yes! Great news on the remote start change. I would also love to see the radio stay on after shutting off the engine until the door opens. I appreciated that feature in my Jeep. Sometimes you just have to hear the end of that song (without burning gas)!

I don’t care much that the truck shuts off when I open the doors on remote start. What I hate is the heated steering wheel and heated seats don’t come on when I remote start. That’s enough reason for me to just walk out and turn it on my self.

Expand your search. I had to drive up to Olympia to get mine a month ago. Waiting for our small dealer to get what you want could be a long wait.

Yeah, my Jeep would turn both on if temps less than 40. (And could be hacked to adjust temp). My tundra will go back to whatever setting was on when you left the vehicle. So at night when I arrive home, I turn the climate on Auto and turn on the seats and wheel heaters before I shut off ignition. Then when I remote start the next day, they will be on.

Just curious if the flare out on the bottom of the bed in front of the rear wheel will catch rocks from the front tires. Looks like it might be a prime place to put a little ppf (or does it come w/something from the factory? Anyone with a new truck check that area out yet for chips?

My limited doesn’t do that. Hopefully part of this computer update I keep hearing about will resolve that.
