Started looking into a Rigid SR series 30" for the bumper in my Platinum when I was at 4 Wheel Parts getting my front Bilsteins installed... I don't mind paying for quality... but are the Rigid lights really worth it? How difficult is it to install the one in the bumper. I have literally 0 experience with something like that... but they quoted me 2 hours labor for install...at $90 an hour (cad)... would love to be able to do it myself...
By the way...your truck looks amazing!

Hey bud. If you do the Rigid SR light bar then you can use several brackets. You can either use Rigids bumper mount or Rago Fabrications bumper mount. If 4wheel parts is charging you for two hours for the lightbar, switch, relay and wiring then that's very fair for the time. The lightbar install is fairly simple. The wiring, relay and switch will take a little bit of planing if your not familiar with wiring. Let me know if you need any more help. Thanks for the compliment on my truck!

Thanks for the quick reply. They didn't specify exactly what the 2 hours labor included... but supposed to be all said and done. Sounds like that might not be a bad option for me. As far as the bumper mount...why did you go with the Rago instead of Rigids own mount?
It's probably hard for you to say, with all your other lighting... but do you think the bumper location would make you satisfied, if you could only have one in the front? I still have the Platinum grille (still considering the Pro Grill)... so that kind of limits my options if I want to keep it tucked in like that...
I guess my worry is that it'll be too low to get the full benefit...

The 40" grill light will be brighter than a single 30" bumper light. Several guys on here have the 40" light behind the TRD pro grill mesh. It's still very bright. You will only be able to use the light off-road since they are so bright. Even just a single row 30" bumper light is a lot of light. I liked the guy from Rago Fabrication and his product. Plus as a business owner I like to support small businesses whenever I can over a large company like Rigid. I also noticed the Rago Fabrication bracket was thicker than the rigid bracket.

I decided to go with a different set of rear fox reservoir shocks. I wanted to have the reservoir stay black to match the front coilover reservoirs. These shocks also have better adjustability and a larger reservoir. Looking forward to these getting installed. IMG_7595.jpg

I spoke with Auburn gears this week. I'm going to have the Auburn Gear 5420134 limited slip installed with my 4.88 gears. This will be just in the rear of the truck. I don't plan on any hardcore off roading so I'm not going with a full locker. Plus auburn didn't recommend installing a locker in the front of an independent front suspension truck. This limited slip will also help transfer the power to both rear wheels when under power or in loose conditions. Since I do plan on the Magnuson Super Charger I want the power transfer to both rear tires. This is an automatic limited slip setup. IMG_7659.jpg

Here is my new grill design. It's going to house a 10" Rigid Radiance on each side of the center logo. The whole frame is double framed so I can do a two tone color to it. IMG_2982.jpg
The double frame will be like the center of this tacamo grill. IMG_7689.jpg

I decided to go with the top grill design. I should get the grill in the next week or two. Then it's heading off to powder coating. Can't wait to get it mounted on the truck! I designed the grill to hold two 10" Rigid Radiance lightbars on the sides of the center emblem. I'm also having the backside of the center emblem done in plexiglass to backlight it with RGB lighting. So I'll have the center logo, my retrofit headlight and rock-lighting all controlled with RGB lighting. I'll have it controlled with a Bluetooth app.

I ordered all my headlight retro fit parts last week. I ordered morimoto DS2 4.0 projectors with custom etching. I went with panamera shrouds and RGB backlight demon eye projectors and 110 mm halos. I'm also changing the side amber reflectors to smoke reflectors. I'll have the parts this next week. I found some bad ass switch back halos for the daytime running lights and turn signal surrounds. Here is how they look during normal running and how they look during turn signals. IMG_7751.jpg

I saw those DRLs a few weeks ago online. They do look very nice! But the the price is too much for me to stomach. Can't wait to see how they look with your new grill. One of my favorite builds for sure!

Yes sir. I'm doing all the lighting and headlight retrofits myself. I planned and ordered all my lift but had it installed at a shop to have a warranty. Most of the work I do myself.

I got most of my retrofit headlight parts in today. I still have the LED switchback turn signal halos and LED switchback daytime running lights coming in later this week. It's going to be a lot of work but it's going to be nice when it's all done. I had the projector lenses etched with a left and right pattern. The projectors and the shrouds will have RGB LED lighting. IMG_7845.jpgIMG_7844.jpg IMG_7842.jpg

Two tone color. I'm doing the back larger frame in the same blue as my wheels and the front frame in Black to match truck.

So are the factory DRL LEDs actual boards on the platinum/1794 and not just a strip or is the board just for the switch back feature?

From what diode dynamics told me the factory leds are boards. These replace the stock boards. I haven't opened the headlights yet so I'm not 100% certain.
