    Speed Glampers Überfahrt is going to Big Bear! Anybody interested in rolling with us?

    I'll be there Thursday evening to find some campsites and do some recon. Go home sunday.

    Only 4wd trucks with 35"+ AT or mud tires and recovery points. You will get scratches. Must bring firewood, full size spare tire and tools to change it, VHF comms, and backcountry camping gear as we'll be doing dispersed camping. It will be difficult to find campsites with permission for fire. We may have to pay for some sites.

    If you're in post here and pm me your email address and phone number

    Beer drinking and general shenanigans will be encouraged

    Role Call:

    I have the following trucks confirmed so far:
    @osidepunker Alex, solo
    @Hoagie hoagie with ???, 4wd FJ
    @Toy.Tun (on IG), Luis with ??? 4wd Tundra
    @roypark, day running on Sat, showing up in the morning
    @BestGen, day running Sat
    @Spvrtan Kris with girlfriend and fur babies, Fri/Sat night
    Princess (Hoagie friend), 4wd Tacoma
    @n2deep Craig with ???

    Tentative:

    @dragos28 Dragos, 4wd Tundra
    @papasmurf Bruce, 4wd Tundra, day running Sat
    @Oneluv13T4R Jeremiah, locked 2wd 4Runner
    @Spvrtan Kris, 4wd Tundra, day run Sat or Sun

    Route/Itinerary:

    Final route ***TBD***

    Trails we plan on running:
    White Mountain, Gold Mountain, John Bull (the easy part, then watch the carnage at Gatekeeper), Dishpan Springs (first time), Lower Larga (first time), Holcomb Creek 3N93 (TBD, need to evaluate difficulty)

    Meal Planning:

    No meal planning, bring your own food and drinks. There are too many people arriving at different times and some people are tentative.

    There are a lot of yellow post campsites up here. I'm not sure how they will be handling fires for those but they're free. I might be able to save some for you guys

    Yeah lots of YP sites. They usually allow fire on those sites until July. Only problem is they are limited to two trucks so I have to find some YP sites that have space around them so the other trucks can camp a little distant and we just share the fire ring.

    I know of a few that are bigger. Just need to go scope them out as its been awhile. Pretty sure the one by my house could easily fit 4 trucks if not more

    The ones on the south side would work I think. But they always fill up

    I'm heading out to Big Bear this weekend if you're interested. As for that weekend I might not have my truck available - it may be getting shipped out to Guam by that point.

    Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to camp but I could come up on Saturday 24th for a day run. Do you have a guesstimate about what trail you'll be running that day?

    Have you done Holcomb Creek? Dishpan? I've seen videos, some look gnarly some look doable. What do you think? I'm trying to gauge whether tundras on 35s with sliders can get through

    Yes I've done them both. In both directions. Dishpan isn't too bad if you go from Crab Flats down into Arrowhead. Coming the other direction means you'll have to climb the Devil's Slide. Either way you're gonna have to deal with long wheelbase and the crappy break over angles. Holcomb even more so. You can get thru, it's just a matter of how much grinding and rock stacking... fun!

    Devil's Slide. This is a lot steeper than it looks. Pics never relay that. IMG_0440.jpgThere is a bypass here just to the right of the guy in the red shirt. Climbing it is a bitch cause it's narrow.

    I would be down to give it a shot. Especially with someone who's done the trail and knows all the hard spots

    It was a glorious day on the mountain! Ran Gold Mtn. It was fun. A lot of tight switchbacks at the start. A couple tough ledges but overall not too bad. Couldn't run John Bull cause it was clogged with Jeeps. :mad:IMG_1247.jpgIMG_1274.jpg IMG_1313.jpgAnd one badass '49 Chevy on Dana 60/14bolt

    Dude nice pix! I can't wait to get out there! Yeah gold mountain is a lot of fun. I've run it a few times. John Bull always get clogged, but I love posting up at the gatekeeper and watching all the shenanigans. I need a bullhorn so I can yell DIFF! every time someone gets hung up lol

    Last year this dude pulled up hammered. He had a badazz yota on 40-something tires and dual transfercase, bobbed and tubed exo. I was checking it out and asking him all kinds of questioned. Then he asked if I wanted to drive it. Fck yeah I did! He gave me the keys and told me to climb gatekeeper to the top and turn around and come back, he was gonna hang out and drink beer. I couldn't believe he let me drive it solo! First time I ever drove a crawler. That thing redlined at about 2 mph in 1st low low. So sick
