Put my tundra to work.


Ive been bugging my great aunt about this tractor for 10 years, and she kept telling me i’d never get it. I believed her. Kind of a running joke between us. Well, she sold her house, and everyone assumed the guy that bought the house was going to buy the tractor and that fell through. She told me saturday afternoon, so i cleared, greased, and rewired my trailer sunday, and went and scooped that bad boy. Tomorrow i’ll wash the truck and tractor before unloading, so i can have a nice pic.

my truck had never had a hitch or pin in it until yeasterday. Trial by fire.

 

Is that a Farmall? Always loved those, you don't see the wide front axle ones like that very often. I almost bought one just to keep in the backyard as decoration. Wife wasn't having it.

Yeah, the bars are just for fill, not necessary at all. I may change it again, but not now. The Kings have Eibach springs on them, 700lb. That winch is Smittybuilt X20 12K. The 10K and 12K are the exact same size, so I went 12.

 

I may be following you on the winch plan. Mental note to remember to annoy you with questions.

@scooterprint shared what I found. I emailed the guy asking about it, and it does replace the aluminum crash bar with steel. I was also concerned about airflow and the radiator, but he said he found it improved airflow, and was able to mount a 10k winch on the front. I'm pretty tempted.

 

F'ing slider day today peoples! I be sliding soon! AH, who am I kidding, my sliders will never touch a rock by my hands. My kids will be doing the sliding...

Got the winch line out of the garage and on the drum. Still need to stretch it.

 

Yes. Technically the SC is closed so it's a good spot to sit with my lightweight chair. The sbux is right next door but out of frame. No indoor seating but the wifi works so I'm good till my battery dies.

Dropped it at 9:30. 2nd trip. He already did the test fit and PC so it was just finish welds and paint.

This happened today. The camper sure gained some weight over the years. I guess the addition of three solar panels, two awnings and a bunch of wood and electrical stuff probably didn't help.

When I first got it me and one other guy got it on with ease. Any guess on the weight?

Truck is sitting pretty high in the back now. First time I've seen the Archive Garage springs without any weight on them.

Did the monthly 4hi engagement today, first time in over a year , but everything worked fine. Figured i needed to know with some potential snow coming to NC.

 

Do they salt or sand in NC? You may want to pressure wash the undercarriage after its over to keep the rust away.

 

In this bumper, tough. But I knew that going in. Had to pull the bumper, etc. Spooling the line also tough. I did rotate the clutch / lever housing to the rear so I wouldn't have to trim the lever. Mounting the solenoid took some thought.

But, it's pretty nice.
