Randomly for no apparent reason, wireless Apple CarPlay stopped working. Go through the cord and it works fine. I’ve tried forgetting my phone as a device and reconnecting it, but no luck. Restarted the phone as well and I’ve tried connecting during different drive cycles as well. The radio has restarted a couple of times for no reason during this as well. Anyone else having this issue?

Yeah, sometimes it happens to me when I have my phone in the door pocket. If I keep it in my right pocket or in the console area, no issue. Where do you keep it?

I know how picky this thing is, so I always have it out and mostly in the cellphone spot. I’ve had the intermittent connectivity issue, but I can usually tell it to connect. Now it won’t connect no matter what and only works through the cord.

Doesn’t it work through both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi? Have you made sure you’re still connected in both the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings of your iPhone? Maybe try forgetting both the previous connections and try connecting again.

Yeah, I believe so and both are on. When I get to the house I’m going to factory reset the radio just to make sure. I’ll forget the truck from my phone as well. To be honest from the very beginning I have not been satisfied with wireless Apple CarPlay. I was hoping it be more convenient but I’ve always had to reconnect in someway because it’s so tedious

CarPlay has been an issue with every make and model. I think it’s more of an Apple problem

I’m sure. But! This might have turned into a bigger issue. The radio restarted again! Then LTA malfunctioned and said visit your dealer. I’m pretty sure something else is happening here

I scheduled an appointment but they’re claiming they can’t give me a loaner. That’s a whole other issue

I dont think thats correct, I have an aftermarket head unit with CarPlay and its flawless.

I think the problem is with Toyotas brand new infotainment system

Could be. I had problems with Chevy infotainment as well as various aftermarket head units. That’s why I opted for a basic single din Bluetooth unit for my tundra and works great- most of the time, lol.

Apple just updated IOS 15, to 15.2.1, it came down the pipe for me a couple of days ago, one of the SPECIFIC issues it covers is Apple Car Play freezing up! Check your phone, get the upgrade!

At this point I don’t even care about CarPlay. My dash is randomly freaking out and lighting up with failures, followed by see your dealer

Oh ya! This radio is the biggest POS I have ever had in a vehicle. Multiple errors. Now at the same time!

    01E62A2E-B5D9-47B9-9DF3-731AB617D6C2.jpg

Been driving my 2007 FJ for the last 2 days since we had a 20” dumping of snow and didn’t want to be stuck in a snow drift without any tow hooks.

I have a Scion touch screen radio (Pioneer) in the FJ with navigation. It was so nice to easily tune stations, plug in my iPhone and use the navigation. And no PIN screen to lock up the display.

Am I disappointed with the 2022 radio. BIG TIME!!!!!!!!
