I’m beyond words, my main man and I went for a hike today……….. he’s 5 going on 26 at least. The only other hikes he’s been on have been paved and 2ish miles total. Today we went on one that has made grown men cry, broken bones, caught on fire two years ago; 5.6+ miles total. Estimated times of one way were 2 hours, he smashed it soooo hard, but safely(that was my main concern on top of 7 others, that he’s a damn wild card and would try to power thru all the super sketchy spots in the least accommodating footwear)
He literally only complained/threw a fit, once, on the way down………..
To which I tried to handle as adult as possible, so we took a break and tried to calm down, and then I said we were leaving without him……… started walking and I hear my bros laughing, shit eating grin on my sons face………….I was just kidding!!!!! And runs ahead of me…………
    We had a blast! I can’t wait to go back with him! 863B2AF7-4F8F-4780-A8F3-58F5B767BAF8.jpg A835EE8A-A8DB-4C7C-8856-C34F6FD7CBDF.jpg 41E91533-4D72-445C-A299-E0DC9AEBA432.jpg 1F4D3745-B509-4EE9-B6DC-6C4F59175CB7.jpg FE38A571-BA72-494E-8BB2-B8D5BC674F9C.jpg 3AF44B9D-428E-4BEA-B0AF-CFEB4212C22E.jpg E1B0BC87-46FE-4A6A-9DB1-06BDE57AA097.jpg 7C976524-445C-48A6-B4BB-E5AACC61D409.jpg 01912C54-CC2B-4E8E-BE02-716FB615F497.jpg 97541DB8-AF0D-4BAE-ACA9-F1D8590F90C3.jpg 7ACF1311-9EA0-4F0F-BD64-552D93315C65.jpg ADCC0DF5-529C-4E0B-8E09-B38ECAEAE3AB.jpg 2CDE661B-2103-4FBB-B465-43E0CFC4DE61.jpg 7870BBC3-EB90-4CB4-92DD-4B4C96620BE8.jpg A86AC019-A26F-4C11-A09D-33749733AB14.jpg

    Awww thanks!!!
I feel like there are some pretty good papas in here.
Me and my aunt were taking the other day, I said I was pretty sad he doesn’t get any grandpa time, plenty of grandma time(which my mom does lots of fun stuff with him) so I try to get as much man time with him as possible. He’s also cresting into that age where it’s actually a lot of fun, still want to pull my hair out, but fun!!! My mom also gives my shit about taking him out of school for our adventures, my response is, any day of the week!

That's awesome, and having a Dad is so important to a growing boy. He'll always remember these kinds of things, and hopefully he will continue that tradition with his own kids.

Haha he calls one of my buddies “raven” for some reason? And he kept asking if I could smell raven? So I was like well yeah! He’s right around the corner! Every so often he would stop, and sniff the air like an animal, and say, I think I smell raven and Jake! So I just went with it, on top of other distractions, we powered thru the trail and smoked all the day hikers; we have strong affliction w day hikers…….. except the cute ones we get to take our picture:)

That’s where I’m at, he’s growing up like I did. We did a camp out every month in scouts.
I know I get frustrated with him and try to tone it back, not trying to follow my dads foot steps in that arena, and try to make it enjoyable for him, he’s a defiant little shit……….no clue where he gets that from…………. Hahahah

Took my girl out to the swamp last week to find a skunk ape and some gators for @War Machine to fight. 0BC5B951-CF7B-4EA1-9E66-2D4EB2C28884.jpgEB953D78-7CF9-4AC4-9BC3-3E33F61AABF7.jpgC08598FF-2F51-401D-A98B-2B7FA5C1A2B9.jpg

and that was after a weekend up at ranch letting her get behind a rifle. This time is irreplaceable and they will always remember it. We have a blast on these adventures together. C66CF893-591A-4582-AF10-686281DF9074.jpg

.22 she is 8 she has had a BB gun for awhile. Teaching them young about guns has proven to be a very good thing. The older one started shooting at 8 also and now as a teenager her favorite is the suppressed 300blk. Puts a smile on my face.

Hell yeah, did you start them at 8? Or when is a good age? My son loves stick guns like they’re not growing on trees anymore! He knows what guns are, but I don’t know if he’s quite ready, or maybe take him out with a BB gun?

Can't speak for others, but we grew up going shooting with 22s and a 357 Magnum as kids. We were given BB guns at about 8, but had shot the real firearms prior to that. Of course, Mom and Dad had to help us hold them, but we learned young.
