Damn dude, its beautiful. Without the chrome on the front, the 2022 is gorgeous.

 

Below is a pic of the factory stud that needs to be cut off each strut. Seems like a good amount, so I don't believe you could reuse to return back to stock (but I doubt anyone really returns their truck back to stock).

 

Perfect amount of poke! and you could always worst case get someone’s takeoff shocks down the road if you had to return to stock

Chrome removal on Gen 3 looks way better than chrome removal on Gen 2.5. Meaning, the Gen 2.5 can tolerate a little chrome, whereas the Gen 3 looks sooooo much better without it, IMO.

Congrats OP - that is an awesome looking truck. Makes me want a Gen 3 now where I didnt before. Hahaha.

Did you get a full size wheel/tire spare? Any issues with the fit/clearance on the spare?

 

Dang even with tires only in the back it looks like bro lean.

 

I have to admit, when I first saw these trucks I thought they were hideous. Now seeing some without the chrome Hulkster trim and with proper stance and tires, they look pretty damn nice.

I love Yokohama tires too and those tires are on my list, unfortunately for me they came out the month after I last bought tires.

 

Thanks for the pic. I thought it might've been just the top hat since the RC instructions say to use "a sanding disc or cut off wheel." I figured if a sanding disc would do it then it was just grinding off that top hat. Definitely need a good cut off wheel then...or turn your arm into jelly with a hack saw. I agree. You're not going back to stock with that much thread cut off. Not that you would want to, but you never know.

I'll probably wait until 3rd party shops have the alignment specs. Getting into my dealer for service is a freakin' PIA. They're so shorthanded that their appointments run about a month out.

My dealer doesn't even have the digital files for their tint cutting machine so they could only tint the DS & PS front doors. The 2 back doors (on the Double Cab) and the back glass are different than previous years and they refuse to cut tint by hand. Admittedly, the service manager said none of their tint guys are good enough to cut tint by hand. He said they've had to replace windows & window seals because of their shotty work back when they let them cut by hand so they stopped allowing it. Oof. BIG oof! I was like, "I'll just wait until you get the digital files." haha

I thought I hated the new Tundra but damn your truck looks amazing. I’ve changed my mind.

 

Do you think these would rub on a non lifted/leveled limited trim (non trd)?

 

it depends on Tire I think.

There is a gentleman on here that put 285/65/20 on a stock Sport 20” rim and Sport suspension which is lowered ~2” that didn’t rub (see below)

I have a 2022 White SR5 Sport Premium. I had new wheels (20x9, +18 offset) and BFG's (285/65r20) put on at Discount Tire. (I went with 20's instead of 18's for a reason that is irrelevant to this post.) They fit without rubbing. Came within 1/4 inch of hitting the felt at the bottom in the front. The Sport Premium is lower in the front than other packages. The offset pushed the wheel just slightly wide of the fender - maybe less than a 1/2 inch. Looked good. They were great and tested everything before having to pull the trigger. So I gave them the ok and they came back a bit later explaining that the valve stems and wheel sensors are new and they can't transfer them or find more of them anywhere. I've searched the forums and FB group but can't find anything about this. They tried to contact Toyota and are waiting to hear back. Anybody dealt with this already? Obviously people have other wheels that are working.
So for now I have the BFG's on the stock 20" wheels which looks pretty good also, but trying to figure out what to do about these sensors and valve stems. If this has been covered and my search skills just suck please feel free to let me know. Thx!

I have 295/70/18’s on mine and they don’t rub but I have a TRD OR (see below).



Both of these are All Terrain though…so if the OP MTs are one of those with extra ‘shoulder/sidewall’ grips then that may be enough to change the situation.

I just ran that exact tire on my Jeep pickup in all conditions including off road and heavy towing for 11,000 miles and they are an excellent tire. Noisy as hell, but they balance perfectly and roll smooth at any speed. Great traction even in rain. I love them.

 

Notice a hit on MPG yet?

 

Yeah. The tires are heavy (per spec, they’re the heaviest AT for their size). You get used to it though.

 

Right now, the truck is registering 15.1 mpg...I have a funny suspicion that it may drop more. If not, I'm happy with 15 mpg.

 

Phatjoe, that sits just PERFECT! I'm planning on something similar if I can ever get my truck in. I've been eyeing the Yokohama MT for a long time now and traded the Chevy I was going to put them on... now it's a waiting game.
