That YouTube guy has a problem I think! Buying and selling a Ford every year I guess I can kinda understand (I’ve had 2 F150s) but I don’t get doing that with a Toyota especially a Tundra (I’ve had 4 and 1 prior to T100) as you don’t really have much chance to benefit from reliability? And if you do that in CA you will enjoy paying 8.75% sales tax + licensing each transaction which is just crazy…

It’s hard to be if he is making so much money on you tube flipping all these vehicles. Especially paying 7000 over msrp. I know I would not for a ford or any other vehicle.

Going to do the first 5k oil change soon. Mobil1, full-synthetic 0w-20, OEM filter, and the motivxtools filter wrench. I see a bunch of things like the tubing to drain the filter catridge before removal. Is that really necessary? Can I just remove the entire cartridge without spilling? Thanks!

Are all the domed “TRD Pro” inlays expensive? I have the flat ones and want the domed but don’t want to pay over $100 for them.

I personally just use the adapter that comes with the filters and drain through that directly into my drain pan. Never had issues personally. But some find it easier and cleaner.

I'm surprise he hasn't gotten a trx, it's weird how it's all very few specific cars, 4runner, taco, fj cruiser, tundra, raptor, and I saw he has/had a mustang.

Yeah that’s what I mean, $200? Yikes. Why can’t these be like $80.

    Congrats!

Was just over at Gladstone last week getting my LR serviced. First time there and they didn't really listen to any of my instructions, not a good first visit. Was hoping to make that my "home" shop since I've heard some not so good things about Wilsonville.

Basically told them to not touch the tires - at all. They were "so kind" as to rotate them for me and reduce the tire pressure down into the unsafe zone since that's what's written on the door. I guess they didn't notice the new tires.

Do you have E rated tires? What do you prefer them run at?

Falken Wildpeak 295s, I start them at 39PSI which allows them a little room to droop in cold weather and still run nice. The door setting is not appropriate for these tires, which I thought would have been obvious to the techs.

That’s what I have. The 295 falkens. I had researched and thought I needed to be more like 45. The shop I bought from told me 35 was fine and when I called falken bc I didn’t think my shop was right they told me 35-37 was just fine for 295. Was surprised.

I like them in the 37-39 range, been pretty happy with that. My main issue with the shop was I told them not to touch the tires since I’d heard too many horror stories about loose or over tightened lug nuts. Then they go and rotate and deflate the tires.

Same issue with McCords in Vancouver.
I keep mine around 37-39 as well. I dropped them down to 35 with the snow and ice on our road recently but aired them back up after that shit went away.

I slid around in the same stuff. Used 4Hi for the first time and it romped around like a champ. Forgot how little weight there is in the back tho, no bueno when it’s icy in RWD. Finally got a decent compressor so I’ll try airing down next time.

Yeah - on my private road and driveway 4Hi was still required, but everywhere else doing a few psi seemed to help

We just got some wet wet wet slop snow. Only about 3”-5” in some spots. I haven’t had to use 4H yet. Wanted to last week. We had some ice last week. 2W worked just fine. I did prepare this time tho and went and bought some cheap bird seed at tractor supply and put 280lbs in the back. Last week I had an empty bed and never got loose but was afraid i was going to

I've got 23k on my stock tires and was going a bit sideways in Wyoming a few weeks ago on snow packed roads. Immediately put blizzaks on and added a topper and bed frame for weight and she feels meaty now. I still get a little squirrely in 2wd at places, but I drive on a lot of unplowed snow and ice at the ranch and ski resorts. 4wd is excellent and I've never gotten stuck (I'll go knock on some wood!)
