I admit that I have not been happy about Toyota deleting the Tundra's V8 power plant and I've been pretty vocal about it to date. Most of my blathering has been in regards to whether or not this engine will be reliable. After seeing this video I will say that I feel a lot better about this engine. I've stated before that I though if anyone could do it right it'd be Toyota but to date I hadn't seen any technical reviews and WHY this engine will be awesome and reliable. I wish Toyota would have made this information readily available in the initial introduction of the Tundra (maybe I missed it). For people like me, reliability is extremely important and I can say most of my concerns and questions have been answered. I will likely buy one of these Trucks in a few years after all the little bugs have been worked out.

I don't think the engine will be an issue long term. But I hope short term they fix the QC issues, especially prior to my platinum delivery.

Toyota usually takes care of their customers. I'm pretty confident they will issue recalls as needed and continually improve their product as they always have.

Toyota sure, but I wouldn’t trust a dealer with paint correction or body panel adjustment. Just one of those things if you notice after delivery you have to just bite the bullet on.

I definitely see skid plates being added to protect the underside.

This guy’s channel is awesome, though. I think it’s worth having a thread for his videos. Maybe the threads could be combined?
