    Hey guys,

New here, just got my truck a few months ago. Couple days ago, I installed the XB Morimoto Gen 2 headlights on my 2015 Tundra, purchased from Headlight Revolution. I road-tested it and everything was working correctly, no issues. Then I received the Morimoto Non-DRL Conversion Relay. After doing some research, I decided to swap out the stock relay for this piece (I originally had the blinker halogen DRLs on my Tundra).

When I installed the new piece, everything seemed to be working correctly: headlights, LED DRL, high-beams. The blinkers were working correctly too. It wasn't until I started driving that I noticed the turning signal SOUND wasn't coming on for either side. The signal flashes at normal speed and the blinkers are working, however no clicking sound at all.

I called Headlight Revolution, and the rep said he'd never heard of this issue before - he was going to check and hopefully get back to me. I called my local Toyota, and she said the headlights may have blown a fuse. Wouldn't the blinkers also stopped working if a fuse was blown, or could it be for only whatever makes the turn-signal sound in the cabin? I'm at a loss. I haven't tried swapping the conversion piece back with the stock, but I wanted to ask here first. Please help!

I swapped the stock piece back in. The sound works. I called Headlight Revolution again, they said to make sure the pins were seated properly. I reinstalled the Morimoto piece and ensured the pins were seated properly.. still no sound with the blinker. I pushed the connector in as firmly as I could, still no sound. Now I'm having trouble disconnecting them again. :(:annoyed:. Sent photos of the connection and video of the absence of sound to HR, waiting for reply...

Mine functions the same way but it's because I have rear LED housings. Do you notice any change in the light function between the two? I don't so I've been thinking I don't actually need the part. At this point I'm used to the click not occurring so I haven't made a priority of swapping the part back in.

Thanks for the response. I haven't noticed any difference either, and I'm beginning to think the same - that the part is unnecessary. I'm also okay without the clicking, I was only worried there was something faulty occurring.

Sorry to revive an older post, but did you ever get this issue figured out? I’m having the same issue on my 2017. Everything works after swapping out the relay except for blinker sound.

Check that your trailer brake lights still work. I had to remove the stupid flasher relay. Everything works fine for me without it.

Never resolved for me. I've been driving with no blinker sound since the install. I've gotten used to it now, and I think I prefer it lol.

Seriously guys, check your trailer brake function with the relay before you pull a trailer and have all lights but brakes. Maybe I got a bad one

Going to try that out tomorrow. What’s the fix if it’s bad?

think I am going to email HR and ask if maybe it’s a bad DRL relay.

I just put my original relay back in. I got the blinker clicking back and all lights function correctly. I have led tail light assemblies that might influence that but I really don't know what the morimoto relay was supposed to do. The HR rep even told me I'd need this one specifically. Waste of $60.

Well if you look closely, the reddish blocks on the original board are your relays, look what's not on the other board... relays, that's where the click sound comes from. The other board, has "Solid State Relays" electronic switching that has no sound! They both perform the same function, the newer board is just quiet about it!

this is the same response I got from Headlight Revolution yesterday. Basically a design flaw by Morimoto imho.

Hey. I’m having the same problem of no trailer brake lights after I installed Morimoto’s relay. I can’t find my factory one. Anyone have the part number for the factory relay?

Just installed my gen 2 xb headlights and i have the same issue with my blinkers, i bought the white drl headlights and the non blinker is actually driving me crazy. Has anyone experienced anything bad with the factory relay? Also please state if you have the white drl or amber drl, im thinking of switching to amber drl(delay for white drl to turn back on after using the blinker is kinda pissing me off hahaha)
