Why don't the Tundra's have the more modern digital speedometers like the Tacoma, Camry's and others

Is there a way to add one or something like it, I went on a road trip the other day and hated to keep bending my head to keep posted on if I was speeding or not!

Just curious if there is a fix like a add on, some one said they have something to tune in to a phone app?

    Thanks

I just look at my Garmin. Good for if you've got bigger tires to. I use it in my cougar, the speedo is way off in it. At 75 it's not even saying 50!

yeah, but at least the digital can be placed in a better spot!

So buying a Garmin will have a digital speedo and how does it sync up!

GPS watching you from the satellites. Its pretty freakin accurate. Never noticed any discrepancy between it and the speedo in multiple stock vehicles with stock tires.

I've had pretty good luck with Garmin. Mines the 7593 or is it 7953. It was the top of the line around 4 yrs ago. It does some goofy shit now and then. But I think they all do, you still have to use your brain or it might get you mixed up. I bought mine at bestbuy, my wife is still using my old one and it's like 12 yrs old and still works but it's never had any map updates, they weren't free back then on that one.

You can do that to, just have to get a phone mount that goes on the dash or windshield. Gotta keep your eyes on the road. I use mapquest and Google maps when the Garmin can't find some places. But that sucks the battery and uses lots of data. There's no monthly fee with Garmin or the others. I've heard that Magellan is pretty good. Had a company TomTom that was retarded.

Well, you could buy a 1/2 ton Chevy. Then you won't be complaining about the digital speedo, but you might complain about your sore feet. :D

I use the GPS Speedometer and Odometer app. I mostly use it on the boat for a more accurate reading and also for average speed for a better idea on fuel economy. It has a couple nice hud displays so you could prop your phone on your dash.

I run an Escort Passport radar detector. It BTs to the phone app and gives me not only the GPS speed readout front and center on the dash (nice to have with the larger tires), but also, the current speed limit if the piece of asphalt I happen to be on.

The speed limit thing is fairly accurate (98%) in all the years I've used this unit. The GPS speed is spot on.

It's nice. Especially with my long arse legs, I tend to have the Tundra seat all the way up and back, making it cumbersome to check the analog speedo in the dash
