Yeah. That’s my problem as well. Lol. I’d love to just leave it. But then they tell me what the issue is and I want a solution. It came brand new with Thai problem and yet to be resolved. The resolution is just too big. So I live with it, and try to ignore it. Ore jump to the 22.

Yes. Brought it straight back at about 200km been 10 months of back and forth, in and out of body shops to be checked and measured and pictures and files to Toyota etc.

If they are all hot and ready willing to swap you out, that tells me they want your truck. Just press em a little more if you want the 22 to see if they'll up their offer a bit. I wouldn't let them do all that body work to mine and keep it. I would live with it crooked, or consider the swap.

Isn't this grand. I just looked at mine and my bed is about 1/4" high on the driver's side. I wish I never looked at this thread.:annoyed::D

That looks pretty bad. Take it to the same dealer OP did and get a 2022!

I already have plans to park my left front up on a berm and have my wife, overweight dog and my not so svelte self jump up and down in the bed in unison to "adjust" this unfortunate revelation.

What state are you in? I'd get another 21 and step up in trim package like a Platinum or PRO for 7k.

If you can find me a dealer willing to eat 20k in upgrades I’m all ears! I’m up here in Canada. I can almost guarantee they will take in my 21, do zero work on it, and ship it down to the states and get the same msrp as here but in USD. The market is not quite as crazy up here for us, low stock for sure, but inflation didn’t happen here the same way.

I would not keep a "new" truck that had that much work- so I would let them take it. As far as finding a V8 tundra or the new one to replace it, you need to decide what is important to you. I would lean to the new truck but also think Toyota should offer you some additions and/or extended warranty at no cost for your trouble. So for me, I would take the 2022 but Toyota would need to lift it when the suspensions become available and give me some extra warranty.

Yeah. I tried for that too. But again, the dealer I’m buying from wasn’t the original dealership. I’m still awaiting a call from Toyota management (Toyota Canada) and will let them know what’s going on, hopefully they can trigger something on their end. I have a hard time expecting something from the dealership as they have been nothing short of awesome trying to advocate for me this whole time. It is Toyota Canada who has their hands tied and it’s not their fault.

I have a deposit down on an incoming 22 OR. And also upgrading my wife to a 4Runner. We are 6-7 weeks for arrival. So hoping Toyota Canada can offer up something before then as this is their mess.

I'm guessing a complete bed is not available to swap in?

Yeah. No, factory won’t make and paint and ship a bed. Doesn’t make sense for them. For me, it would be great! But the cost and headache too high. So they just pay the repair bill.

I would take them up on the offer. In this case, my fear would be future buyers assuming the truck has been wrecked from the back and repaired causing the misalignment. Even if it isn’t true, people won’t believe it

even with first-year issues, the 22's aren't likely to have the whole truck misaligned... take the 22.

I also live in Canada. Would you mind letting me know the name of each dealership? I'd like to avoid the one you originally purchased from and support the one that is trying to help you resolve this issue. Feel free to PM me. Thanks!

    I have no problem saying.
First dealer was Toyota on the trail in Edmonton. (Go auto, need I say more). Best price for the sale for sure. Beat everyone else by a wide margin. But then they are done with you.

second dealer coming through is Sherwood Park Toyota. Great to deal with.

I would see if Carvana or those others companies would give you more for your 21 than the dealership. If so sell it to them, if not do the swap with the dealership and see if they will throw in the extended warranty for free.
    Good luck with your decision.

Just an opinion here but to me it would come down to which truck I liked better. If you like the 22s, take the deal and swap. If you're skeptical and like your 21, let them fix it and move on. I personally wouldnt be bothered by the paint. From what I understand, toyotas paint isnt that great to begin with. Most shops with a good reputation can do better. Also, I think this is a common issue with the late 2.5 gets. Mine is the same way and I just ignore it. Not saying YOU should, I get it. Just my .02. . . .

Any chance their finance guy could work with Toyota and convince them to go 0% financing on the '22 via Toyota Financial? Or are they already there?

Toyota Canada offered me nothing. But demanded the repair be done. My dealer is coming through with the offer. And they were not the purchasing dealer who sold me this current truck.
