Finished installing the MESO lights. They’re a bit ‘warmer’ than the LASFIT LEDs I had in, but those were a touch too white/blue for me.

The driver side clip came fine but the passenger side clip for the map lights did not want to let go. Had to gorilla grab the thing to pull the piece down and reach in there with needle nose pliers to get the clip off. I ended up bending the bracket attached to the cab roof in doing so. It bent back fine but just letting you all know in case any of you experience the same.

I didn’t remove the entire dome assembly like the video shows. I removed the cover, bulbs and reflector and then popped the MESO unit in place just fine. All is working and now I have a sweet red option for low light situations

That's what I was more or less expecting. Depending on which leather steering wheel I find I may research the cost of the switch and/or getting one and just replacing the button if its the same angle and shape

    Thanks!

I think they'll work for me. I'll only be keeping range supplies in them, and having ready access in a system that still allows use of the bed between the wells is worth a try.

Bought a new to me, super clean, 2015 TSS. I've already removed the decals and step bars, currently on the hunt for some new wheels. Also have a BakFlip MX4 and a center console charging tray on the way.

This truck replaces my 2005 Tundra and will be the tow vehicle for our new Casita TT we take delivery of in May.

    Congrats on the newer Tundra.
Why are you changing the wheels? I think they look great , they look nice with the silver Tundra.

AHHHH YESSSS I was giving this thought as well. I have the 1794 mats and they are really cool, but with kids, camping, and such I think I want this in the rear area.

Loading up the table furniture and the hand truck from the latest gun show. The rail system is REALLY nice to bungie the trailer spare tire and the Gorilla hand cart to so they don't go flying around while driving!

    20220109_162058.jpg

Different view of the truck loaded up.
    20220109_162107.jpg

My poor filthy Bolo... The trailer is rated at a ton GVWR and even when full with guns & ammo (and, I suspect, right at or even over that ton weight), the Bolo barely notices the weight behind it. Putting it in Tow/Haul mode just makes it light up the rear tires when I smack the gas pedal at a stop sign. That was a subtle hint that I don't need it except going down my road to the valley - 800' drop in elevation in less than 3 miles.

I did, however, have to throw it in 4Hi on the way to the gun show Friday afternoon - weather started closing in and the snow was starting to build up on the road surface, and he actually started to fishtail once. That was enough of a hint - I threw it in 4Hi until I got to Rutland and the roads were just wet, not snow-covered.

I may actually start purchasing the monthly plans at the car wash up in Williston - the beast just keeps getting filthy from all the road grime here in Vermont.
    20220109_162219.jpg

And yesterday on a service call (day job is field tech), the Bolo hit 60K miles. Weather had gone up to 5°; it was -9° when I left to head to the warehouse to pick up a spare sound card.

Been awhile since I've posted but completed some work that I've wanted to get done for awhile:
    • Bought and installed color matched grill, surround and bulge
    • Picked up and installed a C4 Hybrid bumper (shoutout to @DexterL)
    • Installed a Boss head unit. Awesome screen for the price and I'm very happy. Cost about $560 from Crutchfield and I installed myself.
    • Built my own mud flaps and matched the Rokblokz design. Cost $40 for the materials

Is that a homemade shovel holder I see in the back there? Er, well, the front of the bed I guess. Any details on that? I'm thinking of using some aluminum flat bar to make some homemade rod holders for the bed rail tracks on the sides, and that looks like a good place to start.

Good eye. That's exactly what they are. Two pieces of 1/4" aluminum sheet that I've had kicking around my shop for decades (literally - that stuff is left over scrap from when I worked as a machinist - around 1981!), two JQuad T-nuts from Amazon and two Kolpin Black Rhino Grip Flex mounts. Got the idea from someone else here who did that, ordered the parts and put stuff together. Wanted to put them on the side but the shovel is a bit large for that and I don't expect to need it THAT much. If you want better pix, the bed is (mostly) empty now so I can scramble in and take some. I thought I had taken some, but I don't see them in my phone or computer.

I used one of the other T-nuts to mount a spare drawbar - I keep two; one with a 2" ball and 2" drop and one with a 1 7/8" ball and a 10" drop for the Bunkhouse camper. I'm thinking of using the fourth T-nut in the pack to build a mount for the fire extinguisher I keep in the truck.

While I've never needed one on the road, I HAVE, in my lifetime, had to use a fire extinguisher in my house twice (pan fire and an electrical fire when some metal shavings shorted out the power strip on the front of the lathe bench in the machine shop), and a ChimFex stick in my woodstove another time. Fire is a wonderful servant... and a terrible master. I prefer to keep stuff around to keep fire in its proper place. If I NEVER have to use the fire extinguishers in my house and garage (3 in the house, one big one in the garage - probably about $300, I think), I'll be just as happy. And if I DO have to use them, I'm gonna be damned glad that I had them.

@Boisefly how is the Boss Head unit? Looking to upgrade mine but can't stomach the $1500 plus for a JVC or Kenwood. Did you retain steering wheel controls (did you get a idata link or maestro)? Does apple carplay work wirelessly? Would love to get a review on the unit from you and ease of install.

@HamHands - made some home made brackets from HomeDepot and mounted a shovel and axe using quickfists. Tucked away nice on the side of the bed.

That's exactly what I had in mind! Thanks, looks great. Are those black brackets hooked on the bottom end? Also, did you mount them in the existing holes that the rail is mounted on?

Lifetime as long as the person is in business. I think the average price is about $1000.00.

All these brackets for shovels and axes, has anyone built/bought one for the ball mount so they can save their knees by not keeping it in the receiver all the time?

I love it so far. It is not wireless Apple Carplay. Must be plugged in - doesn't bother me. I wasn't interested in spending $1,500 either so that why I went the Boss route.

I did retain all steering wheel controls. The Idata link was included with the Crutchfield package. As a note, I paid crutchfield $25 to wire all of the adapters for me. When it arrived, it was a simple plug and play. Very simple.

The screen resolution is awesome. Clear and detailed. It is shiny screen and some people have complained about glare but I dont see an issue with that. Also, I did not install the aftermarket microphone included with the kit because I have had issues with these mics in the past. So, I cant comment on the hands free calling aspect.
