My uncle got bit by a western diamondback a few years ago. It was really big for a Texas snake (westerns are smaller than easterns or timbers), with a head my uncle said was about as big as his fist. Didn't rattle at all before striking. He didn't lose his leg, nor his life, but I can't imagine it was a good time. You're doing the right thing getting those kings around.

Well, Steve, it’s not an issue anymore. I have moved to western Oregon. Although there technically is a couple poisonous critters in Oregon, they are nearly nonexistent in this part of the state. No venomous reptiles, scorpions, black widow spiders, just nettles and black berry thorns!

Have you ever had a chance to see a sidewinder? Strangest thing ever, the way they move.

Yeah, but we don't have kangaroos, which sucks cause I'd keep one in the backyard if we did. No particular reason other than it would be cool.

A kangaroo would be awesome. Until it tried to drown you in a pool.

Good thing for me that I don't have a pool, too much damn work and expense.

Now if you excuse me for a minute, I'm going to research how to import a kangaroo.

Maybe I'll get a small one, like a midget kangaroo.

Wait, sorry, that's very insensitive of me. I think they prefer to be called little kangaroos.

Many, many years ago I dated a cowgirl. I was young and stupid so I bought a horse. Of course we broke up and the problem is that she was the one with horse property.

I was renting my childhood home from my parents and even though it was a typical house on a cul-de-sac, it was grandfathered and technically allowed horses, so I moved it to the backyard. That damn horse became like a big dog, would come into the house from the back door and hang out. I used to have an old video of it.

They’re just normal rats that eat citrus fruits and commit suicide by drowning in your pool, then clogging the drain or your robot vacuum.
