I talked to my dealership today (SET). Looks like the platinums and 1794s are still on a QC Ship hold. Mine said 50 days which would have pushed it out to Mid Feb. Rep told me that it rarely takes that long to get them moving again but all bests are off with the shortages. Hope everyone gets theirs soon.

I was at my dealer today, got a platinum allocated, build date was 6Jan before Xmas, today it was 7 Jan and was told i should see it roughly 30 days later... This was at Peterson in Boise ID.

At this rate, Toyota should relabel the Plats/1794s as 2023 models. Trucks will already be four months to half-a-year old into the model year when they arrive. Maybe others models too if the wastegate issue turns into a bigger deal. A 2022 should normally be on the lot in Oct. 2021, not April and May of '22.

I also have a Jeep Wrangler build in the works, jeep has yet to begin building 2022 wranglers yet at all! And the JL has zero changes from 21 to 22
I think Toyota is doing as good or better than other car brands.

When did you put down your $1k deposit on that truck? Had an interesting chat with Peterson a few months ago..

Early Oct. I put down the deposit. Early Dec I chose the allocation and applied the deposit.

Is that the issue that’s causing the delay? I still can’t find out from anyone why they are stuck at the port for this QC ship hold.

I’m waiting on a Platinum, but my dealer in Ohio reported that they are seeing random delays on some of their allocation. Mine, as an example, has been pushed back by 20-30 days.

Interesting. Do you have a build date? I had mine (build date) pushed back 2 weeks from initial conversation w/dealer in Dec to 6 jan (now 7 Jan). but seems to be on schedule now.

Build date was 1/3 and has been the whole time, but they said they are just seeing some of them arrive later. It was originally mid January and is now early to mid February.

I'm interested to see how your build progresses as I'm apparently a few days behind you. Dealer told me yesterday Portland, OR is final assembly point, as that was where accessories and upgrades were installed?? Seemed unusual but that was what I was told.

Regardless, I'm committed at this point so will continue to wait. They got me hooked. Audi does well in the snow for now...

The dealer told me the same thing three weeks ago about my Platinum.
Yesterday the dealer said my Platinum would be at the Jax port today.
They mentioned that they are low on the chips. I'm assuming this is the chip holding up all manufactures.

Just got a heads up from my dealership that my Platinum is off QC Hold (At Port) and moving. I guess now I’ve only got to worry about my turbo being replaced after 300 miles. These wastegate codes are concerning

I was hoping that’s what the hold was for…

They couldn’t tell me what the hold was for and I was a bit bummed. Wish we could find out how many trucks have been affected. I’ve heard they don’t have enough components for the fix and I can’t be without a rig for months.

My 1794 build date is 1/26 with an arrival of 2/21. Fingers-crossed.

As for port delays at Jax, I was told from two separate sales people at two separate dealers it has to do with not just a shortage of drivers, but specifically, some sort of special longshoremen CDL that is needed, different than a commercial CDL.

Thanks for that info. That’s actually the first detail I’ve heard about the hold. I was hoping it was to fix the turbo issues or identify the bad batch.

Spoke to my sales manager in Virginia. Provided with Railroad Arrival of 1/21/ - 1/26/22. Originally 1/18 - 1/24/22.
Questioned the QC issues discussed on the site, he stated he had not heard this on 1794/Platinum but did on say the Base Model SR was having issues.
    Who knows!
Fingers cross in comes in on the 26th.

That is interesting. My dealer is expecting a bunch of 1794s and Plats, but all delayed. Got 4 SR5 and 2 SRs this past Friday when I picked up my SR5. He said he was told a QC issue on the upper trims. Wish there was a way to get real info for all of you waiting.

Interesting…my last update request was more of a spitball rather than a “here’s what’s on the Toyota site.” Thanks for the education!

That's a killer screen shot - thanks for sharing.

Your 1794 arrival date is my 1794 build date - twin sons from the same San Antonio mom :)
