    My go to was Uncle Jack with a splash of Coke or Pepsi for bubbles. Drinking was one of the things I did really well... :(

    I have a special place in my heart for Seagrams 7. I always poured my 7&7's a little heavy and called them "49's".

    I enjoy some nice stuff occasionally, but I don't drink near as much or often as I used to. No need for me personally to purchase expensive liquor/beers/wines when my pallette isn't refined enough to care enough about them.

    I grew up with alcoholic parents (they've been completely sober for over 20 years now) and I would mix my mom's jack n Pepsi and pour my dad's beers. I think that's where my taste for it came. I didn't realize this until my 20s, but my dad, myself, and my oldest brother don't get hung over. We've all had blackout drunk moments in our lives, wake up in a field almost completely naked :anonymous:, end up in someone's bed where we don't know the people, arrive home after leaving a club and making it home, etc.....but we don't get hung over. My other brother will tho. It's crazy. I'll be tired from staying up til 5AM drinking then waking up later (sometimes still drunk), but not all the other stuff. I don't drink heavily anymore since being an adult and having children. Maybe if I did, I would experience one. Idk

    I was bad for hangovers in my 20's. Three or four beers or a couple of shots and I'd have a screaming headache the next morning. 30's came and the hangovers magically stopped. More than a pint of bourbon could bring one on, but not always. Cruising through my 50's and they're starting to come back. Not nausea and a fat head so much as just not being able to think straight the next day (not that that was really one of my strong points anyway...). It's not so much a disappointment as a curiosity, and I don't really drink that much anymore anyway.

    The one thing I like about American whisky is they have an actual category for rye. What people here call rye is mostly corn.

    Good morning, goodfellas.

    If you want to know how my weekend is going, I just took a pillowcase out of the dryer, put it over my head thinking it was a t-shirt and spent 15 seconds inside it searching for the neckhole.

    I’m thinking the t-shirt material sheet sets weren’t such a good idea.

    Really? I can't stand Canadian whiskey. I don't like rye and even the Canadian corn whiskey tastes like rye to me. The Scots do whiskey the best, closely followed by the Americans imho.

    I honestly don't think I've had a true rye whiskey, I like how smooth the Canadian blends are. Funny how taste buds are so different.

    Agree on the Scotland whiskey. Short story time;
    My first taste of whiskey was in Scotland on my 11th birthday. We were stationed in England for a couple years in the early 90's. My grandparents came over for a month and we rented a cabin in the Highlands for a week I believe. Anyway, we go to the Oban Whiskey distillery for a tour and tasting. I sweetly proceed to ask all parents/grandparents separately for a sip of their Oban. Got all 4 to agree.

    Islay Scotch is my first choice. Rye is my second choice when I can get the good stuff and certain Canadian whiskies (Seagram's VO, Gibson's, Wiser's) would be my third choice.

    Was ruined by Glenfiddich when stationed in England in the 90’s. So smooth. Can’t say I’m educated enough about Canadian whiskeys beside crown royal, need to correct that.

    For Scotch I'm a Highland and Speyside guy. They vary so widely between regions. Laphroaig and Glenfiddich are two wholly separate experiences. I haven't tried enough, but the only ryes I've liked were the high-dollar kind - Whistle Pig and the like. Maybe I need to mix mules or manhattans. Cigars and camp fires deserve bourbon, though.

    I do greatly enjoy Laphroaig. I pretty much only like bourbon in Old Fashioneds, which I try not to drink too often because of all the sugar.
