I'm from what I call bourbon country and while I am partial to KY made bourbon, I will agree that there are some good bourbons from other states. Bourbon is a uniquely American spirit and by law must be made in America to be called bourbon. It doesn't matter what state as long as it meets certain requirements.

    Copied and pasted:

    Bourbon Requirements
On 4 May 1964, the United States Congress recognized Bourbon Whiskey as a “distinctive product of the United States.” The Federal Standards of Identity for Distilled Spirits (27 CFR 5) state that bourbon must meet these requirements:

    • Bourbon must be made of a grain mixture that is at least 51% corn.
    • Bourbon must be distilled to no more than 160 (U.S.) proof (80% alcohol by volume).
    • Bourbon must be aged in new, charred oak barrels.
    • Bourbon may not be introduced to the barrel at higher than 125 proof (62.5% alcohol by volume).
    • Bourbon which meets the above requirements and has been aged for a minimum of two years, may (but is not required to) be called Straight Bourbon.
    • Bourbon aged for a period less than four years must be labeled with the duration of its aging.
    • If an age is stated on the label, it must be the age of the youngest whiskey in the bottle.
    • Only whiskey produced in the United States can be called bourbon.
One thing to note, it does not have to be aged a certain amount of time to be called bourbon. As soon as it hits that new, charred, oak barrel it can be considered bourbon.

With all this being said, if you limit yourself to only bourbons made in Kentucky, you are missing out.

Read a nice article in CA this week on Scotch pairings with cigars.
Didn't care for the cigars they were pairing with but, I really liked one specific scotch.
Couldn't find it locally so I ordered a bottle. "Auchentoshan Three Wood Single Malt"
Should be here tomorrow or Monday.

That stuff ends up in my golf bag flask more times than not. My "buddies" seem to be dragging behind when they are hitting before us to grab a snoot full.

Yup and in some way, it could be a blessing that was needed.

Mine was a good thing. Haven’t driven after a drink since. Was getting pretty careless with it. Got lucky and got pulled over speeding below the dui limit but still dwai. Went through the ringer in court and with probation. Very embarrassing. Thankful for it looking back.

OF looks just like this but says 1910, the 1920 in my opinion is the best of all of them, though I haven't had their Birthday Bourbon. The BB is almost impossible to find and easily twice the price too, the post you quoted is Barrel Proof if that is what you are asking.

Incredibly smooth with amazing depth of flavor. I won't go into details. Definitely worth the $140 asking price.

Friend of a friend that owns a liquor store out East and was able to get me a case of their picks. ER is pretty common here in AZ. I see bottles in most grocery stores.
