Own a wrangler for a while. That will teach you to firmly close a door.

I like the look of a 2.5G DC much more than the 3G DC. Just my personal preference. I also realize that my current 2.5G is starting to look older to me now that I see the 3Gs.

3" OME lift w/ UCAs. ARE overland shell w/ ARE roof rack. 34" Falken Wildpeaks. ARB awning. Road shower. Wilco Offroad Hitchgate Solo High Clearance. LED lighting upgrades. Lockerdown console safe. Weathertech floormats. Duluth deluxe rear seat cover to go under the offroad approved car seats.... :P
I can tell you from experience with a 2017 1500 Ram, at max payload its slightly terrifying to drive. I use one for work, and if I load the bed up it feels like the nose will lift off the ground, and it wanders all over the road. The HD trucks may handle load better, but the 1500 SUCKS. My Tundra on the other hand, does squat if I pile in a ton of stuff, but it handles great, I would agree fully on this, I trust Toyotas conservative payload numbers a lot more than the Rams...

Fairly typical for the various Truck publications to be harsh on Toyota.

I've only had it for a couple days. I do have one huge dislike.. Yes this truck rides super smooth, but every time I hit a little dip in the road, it feels like the rear suspension is bottoming out. The package I have comes with rear airbags and can only be used for load leveling or under 18 miles MPH. I can only imagine what it's gonna feel like when I have something in the back in the back of the bed, like my dirt bike. Anyone else think this is a problem?

Isn’t it a characteristic of airbags to bottom out sooner?

What’s that? You have a check engine light error code for a turbo flapper thingy? Let me do a body off frame rotisserie restoration on your truck to change a part that’s sitting on the engine, cause who cares about repairability for the average joe. I’m dumbfounded this is the way.

On the flip side, perfect time for a BMC to get that dirty 7 action going.

It's a little odd to see someone "in" with Toyota, gets a whole team of Toyota engineers to fly to you and fix your door locks, get invited to the Tundra launch event for an early drive, then in the end you call Toyota's truck ugly and nitpick it.

All that extra space in the front and you have to separate the car to do that repair?

I wonder if you have to get a cherry picker and lift the engine out to change the oil.

Reminds me of that scene early on in the Star Wars franchise when we got a quick peek at Darth Vader without his helmet! YIKES! Hey, that could come in handy though, drop the body off at the shop for a quick dent removal and still drive away!

It’s probably faster and easier to remove the cab to service the turbos. Looking under the truck, I can see removing the turboback exhaust can be easy but not a lot of space to move a turbo. It could be done without lifting the cab but that’s probably the Toyota approved method.

If you look in your front wheel well, you should be able to see the turbo behind a splash guard. What do you all think? Can it come out without lifting the cab off the frame?

The removal of the cab to service the Turbo's IMO is probably real as like others have said, it may be easier to work on, and the time it takes to raise the cab is probably negligible as far as warranty is concerned. If I remember correctly, cabs were removed just to fix the cam tower leaks on the 2.5, guess it all depends on the dealer you take it to.

What does it take to lift the cab off? Couple of body mounts and unplugging some wire harnesses or is there more to it?

Yikes. I hope this doesn’t hint at how difficult this truck is to self-maintain.
