everyone on here has been so helpful so far so I figured I’ll post another question. what’s your method and what suggested for cleaning out the fuel injection system is it just a throttlebody or is there something different? my last two trucks and my other truck I currently have have all had 5.3 so just a can of throttlebody cleaner and then I would usually use Chevron techRon every few tanks of gas and use Chevron supreme gas and it seems to work well for them.

My mom worked the books for Berryman when we lived in DFW. What a shitshow that place was.

That said, Seafoam is king. Run down to 1/8 of a tank and drop in a bottle. Take a few short trips after that, 5-10 miles each, so it has time to pull up into the fuel system, sit for a period, then push through again.

It's just highly refined petroleum, which is excellent at breaking up carbon deposits, so no worry about nuking your engine.

Unsponsored proof here if needed. Just don't do anything stupid that could hydrolock your motor. Some people suck it up in vacuum hoses, they specifically warn against it.

When i pulled the injectors on my jeep i sprayed aerosol carb cleaner while clicking em open with a 9v battery. With an electrical tape seal on the straw i convinced myself none of em were clogged or leaking, even though i didnt really have enough juice to get a good look at the spray pattern.

im a fan of dosing every other fuel tank with stuff, seafoam, marvel mystery oil, and berrymans havent ever done me wrong.

^^^That Seafoam did that trk good. However, adding it as a cleaner into the oil could cause issue. Awhile back I was going to add Gunk cleaner into the crankcase but was advised not to do it. A friend had used it in his old Ford Ranger's engine and the gunk cleaner ruined it. Oil deposits that the cleaner didn't dissolve circulated and clogged oil passages which in turn killed the motor. While talking about using it, one person who was a mechanic added his 2 cts saying to stay away from crankcase cleaners. Especially old engines where thick oil buildup is possible. Advised older engines should be left alone when running good already, but it sure looks like it helped the guy's engine in the video. Just my 2cts

I would never use Gunk products inside anything. But that's just me.

I've been putting SeaFoam in the crankcases of my vehicles and small engine products for more than 2 decades and never had an issue.

I did recently use Gunk's engine cleaning products on the outside of my engine. They weren't bad, but weren't mindblowing either. I've never had a lot of luck or faith in their products.

Absolutely one of my favorite YouTube channels. Whether it's going over rustproofing coatings or internal engine stuff, just a great practical scientific attack on everything.

And his voice reminds me of my friend Spencer from Murfreesboro TN, which is always a plus.
