I'm getting a dealer installed fixed running boards price of $750 for my new 1794 that arrives on 1/11/22.
Does that sound like a fair and reasonable price to everyone?

I would say it depends on what your time/availability and skill level is.

that’s approx $150 for ~20-40 min of work.

I for one don’t have the tools I used to (stolen), ‘free’ time I would love to have due to 2 little kids and consuming job, etc…so it was worth it to me when I took delivery of my truck with dealer installed predator steps…but other folks might think differently.

it literally took me 10 minutes with a power driver, torque wrench and cardboard to lay on. It really takes minimal skill, toughest thing (which isn’t actually tough) is bench pressing the board up and onto the screws for easy hanging. :)

I actually thought there would be more of a deeper footing area…I find myself having to ‘pay attention’ to use it…working well for the kids and smaller feet folks though (not the most comfortable for my size 12’s)

…however I will see what the long term prospects turn out to be.
I had a set of Go Rhinos on my last truck…and those were nice and wide so this will be an adjustment

It's good to see a real world pic of the predators. My truck shows up in a couple of weeks and they were the only option I had for side steps. I'm in the same situation as you were with the wife and two small kids so I had to take them. Luckily we're all in the smaller feet camp!

Test drove a 22 that had the TRD steps they were nice and had the bed liner coating. But they were a higher reach to step up onto, the area to step on was narrow because the with somewhat tucked under the body and on the way out it was very difficult to “find” the step.
I hope the predator works for me, but I think aftermarket auto steps may be the way to go.
I looked at a grand wagoner in dealer, the auto steps were incredible almost a foot wide with inlaid grip channels, price was incredible as well. Incredible high price!

So have a question. I have 2 2022’s got on two list and purchased both. Do you think i can swap the leather heated seats out of the one and put in the other?? Both are SR5 CM one has the heated leather the other does not. I had planned on keeping the one with the larger display screen but it really doesn’t do much for me.

Depends on how old and broken ur body is. I found them helpful when I test drove it

Bingo! My wife is 5'1". Running boards or predator steps are an absolute must have accessory.

How close do the rails of the predator steps fit against the body of the truck? Will stuff collect and get stuck between the rails and the body of the truck?

First thing my wife said about the grippiness compared to my prior. That’s a plus for others that are looking. The OEM chrome / black or black ones looked like they would be slippery, which is why I spent a bit more.

Not sure yet. Something a little more aggressive but not too big. Traded in my Rubicon. Not going rock crawling in this or I would have kept the more capable Jeep. Perhaps some 34 Nitto’s. This one primarily street and field driving. I’ll probably wait a bit.

I like the Predators on mine. The fact the lowered step is only at each door as opposed to the entire length of the product may result in less impacts when off roading
