Due to supply issues they will be switching to a new tube supplier, and because the new tubes will have a slightly different dimension, they also have to design new headers and make new molds.

The current or “old” design is not flawed in any way and in my opinion is one of the highest quality coolers on the market that also comes with a lifetime warranty.

Gotcha, makes sense. I guess supply chains are screwing with everything. Glad I got one when I did. Ugly welds be damned!

Has anyone had problems getting the Setrab 15 row cooler to mount straight up and down? Mine has a slight angle to it and I am unable to get it straight. Not sure how big of a deal this is.

There will be a slight angle up and down (<5 degrees). This is do to the bottom and top frame on the truck not being exactly straight up and down when parallel with each each surface. If you look at your condenser, it is not exactly up and down either. This doesn’t effect the performance of the cooler.

Here is my cooler mounted. The top angles to the left a bit. Is this what you are saying is normal?

Negative. You need to slide your bottom mount to the left. The bracket is designed to slide left or right on the bottom mount do to the pressure plate. Just loosen the top and bottom bolts, adjust, then tighten.

I thought I had it slid as far as it could go and the bolts were hitting the holes in the frame so it couldn’t slide anymore. I will go take the grille off and try again.

It sounds like you have the bracket flipped the wrong way. Please send a pic of the lower mounting location.

You have the cooler mounted on the wrong side of the bracket. Please remove the bracket and mount the cooler on the other side.

Oh yeah I knew that. I just enjoyed working on my truck so much that I made a reason to go work on it again!! Flipped the bracket around and it’s straight now. I went ahead and shortened the one hose so it wasn’t touching anything now. Should be good to go. Thanks!

@Genuine Cooling Systems and any others... HELP!

Is it normal to have trans fluid be leaking out of the fill plug when you pull it? When I pulled it, it started leaking a good amount of fluid so I buttoned it back up.

From looking at the transmission and the pan, there is a pretty significant distance from the fill hole to the 5mm adjustment hole. Did the factory just fill the transmission up to the fill hole and then fail to adjust the level via the 5mm hole?

Got everything installed and have the truck leveled. I have checked level at the following locations:

    1. Transmission Pan - it is dead level front-to-back and side-to-side. I even noticed there are indented hash marks on the pan that appear to be just for leveling purposes.

    2. Drivers Frame Rail - it is dead level front-to-back and within the center level marks for side-to-side.

    3. Passengers Frame Rail - it is level front-to-back and showing slightly high (towards outer center level mark.

I didn’t get any oil out of the fill plug and technically you shouldn’t have any .

Was the truck sitting overnight and oil cool when you removed the plug ?

It sounds like your transmission was overfilled from the factory. Just perform the level check procedure without adding any ATF ensuring the thermostat is pinned to fill the hose and cooler.

Yep, it had been sitting for days as I did the install in pieces. Ambient temp was around 60 degrees.

    @Genuine Cooling Systems

OK thanks. So just go ahead and start the truck, run through the gears and get to 99 degrees and adjust?

    1. Crack loose your pan level bolt to ensure it will come loose.
    2. Verify you have your pan temperature gauge up and showing a temp.
    3. Start truck
    4. Run through all the gears slowly until you are near 99 degrees F.
    5. Open pan level bolt at 99 degrees. Once you see the steady flow of ATF turn to a trickle, re-install the bolt.

Thanks @Genuine Cooling Systems and you other guys. I appreciate your time, advice and experience. Probably gonna have to wait a day or two. Been raining all night and day with wintery mix now due.

    I will report back.

Meanwhile any one else want to make me feel better that the factory did indeed overfill? Sure does make you think you can't hurt to err on more fluid during the adjust phase.

What you can do and what I would recommend since you are going to wait a day or two to complete the ATF level procedure...

Go ahead and start the truck to fill the ATF lines and cooler with fluid (run the truck for appx 3 min). Next, add an additional 0.5-1 quart of ATF to the transmission. It won't hurt to have a little extra ATF in there during the check level procedure however, being that your transmission is overfilled from the factory you should have more than enough ATF in there already to fill the lines, cooler, and be able to distinguish when the ATF turns from a stream to a trickle.

Does anyone know if this kit is compatible with the Magnuson TVS1900? I have a supercharged 2020 Limited 4X4 Crewmax and I’d really like to add a transmission cooler if it’s possible.

Yes, sir. For those who have a Magnuson SC a smaller top spacer will be used as the Setrab cooler bracket and Magnuson SC intercooler share the same mounting location. Please email me at genuinecoolingsystems@gmail.com with your order number and I’ll ensure you have the correct spacer when the kit ships.

There is one additional change to the install instructions for those with a Magnuson SC. The photo attached is the Magnuson support bracket used to mount the intercooler to the truck. It uses the same location as the lower portion of the Setrab transmission cooler bracket. In order for the bracket to fit properly, the Setrab bracket will need to fit overtop of the Magnuson support bracket as pictured in red. A 1/16" fender washer spacer will be provided for the left mounting location to offset the difference in height so the Setrab bracket will mount square. Additionally, a carriage bolt can no longer be utilized as instructed over the Magnuson support bracket. Instead, an additional M8 hex bolt and lock nut will be provided for the right side to secure both the Setrab and Magnuson support bracket (Magnuson's square locking nut will no longer be utilized).

Does anyone know of a shop that has installed this in San Diego County or surrounding areas? We are willing to travel a bit to get it installed.

My brother in law took his kit to Off Road Warehouse in El Cajon. I’m pretty sure any decent mechanic can install it with ease, it’s pretty straight forward. My kit is on the way right now, and I plan on installing it myself.
