Howdy all - just thought I'd put a thread here for our favorite topic and most passionate debate (well, at least in the top 5) - TIRES!! What is everyone running here in the PNW area? I've been in AK, WY, ID, ND, MT and am used to the pretty solid dry/snow/cold areas, but this whole rain+snow+ice+rain+sun+snow craziness is...different. I've alternated between Discoverer AT#s and Open Country AT #. What's everyone else running - brand/model/size - throw 'em up!

295's Yokohama Geolandar X-AT's, got them because there were no Wildpeaks available at the time, been super happy with them. They handled this last round of winter just fine, better than the stock Michelins and those did fine in the snow and ice too. They were about 100.00 cheaper when I bought them, only paid 250.00 a tire from Wally Mart.

I run Toyo AT3's and love them in the wet, snow, and ice. I had run a couple of sets of the KO2's on my last tunda. The KO2's perform fairly well in the wet and snow but really shine in everyday handling. However, the Toyo's blow the KO2's away in the snow.

On the previous pickup I ran Duratracs year round, though it wasn't a daily driver, it was still the vehicle of choice if the snow got too deep, partially due to its better ground clearance versus our AWD vehicles, and also because I had chains for it if needed (though we only ever had to use the chains towing the RV or utility trailer in/out of the mountains during hunting season). The Duratracs never let me down, but for hardpack snow and ice we had better options.
With the new Tundra the stock LTX A/T2s are just frustrating. Honestly, when was there ever a market niche for a "gravel tire"? They work, but their forte seems to be throwing mud everywhere, and they aren't that good in the snow and ice. I'll keep them until they either wear out or I can't stand it anymore (probably the latter), then replace with Duratracs. In the interim we're getting a second set of wheels to put Blizzaks on for the winter. There is no substitute for dedicated snow tires around here.

This is probably an unpopular answer, but I am going to put on LS Open Range as soon as I get the lift on (next few months). They appear to be similar to the Wildpeaks but 99% of my driving is in LS area and when my wife drives the truck to work she passes 4 of their locations. Also, I have about 5 neighbors that have them and all speak highly of them.

I had a set of Open Range on my Honda Pilot. They were really great tires and they will definitely be something I consider for the Tundra when I need new tires.

I agree that these new Toyo AT3’s are excellent for all PNW conditions. Driving in a lot of snow, ice and rain lately.

My stock Michelins did fine the past two years, but have worn to a point (50-60% treads remaining) that their performance is underwhelming. They are fine in dry and wet conditions, but not snow.

I ran KOs on my last truck and they were amazing. Just impossible to keep balanced, so not getting them again.

Just bought Cooper Evolution M/Ts in 275/70 R18. Haven’t installed them yet, so nothing to report. I suspect they will not be great in the rain, but we shall see

yeah, the tires that came on my N2M (new to me) are GT Reliatrek HT - only available in AL, FL, GA, SC & NC - not even M+S rated... it's been... interesting. Go to hear that people have enjoyed AT3s - had them on my 2500 Cummins in ND and loved them. Totally agree @Fitzf15E on dedicated snow tires when compared to even 3peak tires. Just got back from a trip to WY and the wifey's Expedition has Discoverer AT3 4Ss - was very happy and confident even in the icy passes for being 3peak rated. There were a couple times I wish I had some blizzaks though - just had to slow down.

I just bought a set on Toyo AT3's and I'm very excited to try them out. I'm not in the PWN but I am in Western NY (so very wet/snowy/icey/etc)

When I moved from GA to here in WA I got the Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws in the stock 275/65/18 size. They’ve been great in the rain, snow and highway cruising especially compared to the all seasons I had before. Very quiet for AT’s and tread still looks new after 25K miles

I've been running Nitto Terra Grappler G2's for the past 6 months, happy so far.

Considering General X3's next but not sure if I want/need more aggressive.
