I am in the southeast. The quote above is what my sales person told me today. Original build 11/24. Delivery date 12/13, then 12/23, then 12/30, now some time in January is what I was told. Anyone else hear anything like this ??

Wonder if there is a feature that is exclusive to that trim that is requiring correction before departing to the dealers…

I got a 1794 ordered and paid, ETA delivery is Jan/6/22...just check with my dealer in northern CA and might be delayed a couple of days due to Xmas and New Year shutdown.

Great question. It actually makes me very uneasy. That only one specific trim is being held back. Yes it could be something simple. Not having the detail is very frustrating. People have taken delivery on 1794's so I am guessing they found something later on.

Interesting. I wonder is they "thought is was delayed due to the holidays" before they had this new I formation

I had a deposit down for a platinum in May in Ontario Canada. Was given a preliminary date at the beginning of December that arrival would be around 12/23. Before Christmas, I inquired and they said that it has been pushed back to end of Feb/early March :eek2:. My car needed a new starter along with everything else lol so I didn’t want to start throwing money at it. I called every dealer in the province and no one was getting one in. I started speaking more to some dealers more around where I am and they all stated that any platinums of 1794s that they were allocated would be coming in around the same time: Feb/Mar 2022. That said, a dealer did get a 1794 as a demo recently and 100% would not sell it so I don’t know what to think. Maybe they did find an issue and this one that they got was already on the truck so they were forced to keep it as a demo instead of selling it..? Speculation, but it is odd that only the platinums/1794s are being held back.

In 1992 I put money down on a color black Celica GT-S. After 6 months of waiting they finally told me "if you want to know when it is here I suggest you go to Long Beach and watch what comes down the ship's ramp." Doesn't look like the information flow has improved a heck of a lot since then.

I went to the thread for “post your pics of your new truck”. It is pinned above. Not one 1794 that I can find

Well That pretty much validates what I was told.

My 1794 does not have the advanced package or the power running boards.
I have the TRD off road package. So I am guessing it has nothing to do with the options your truck or my truck has.

Keep me posted as I will do the same for you.

What area of the country are you getting the truck from?

My 1794 hits the Jax port on 1/3 with a dealer delivery of 1/11. I'm in Ft. Myers, FL so that's part of SET like you.

I put down a deposit with a delivery date of 12/23. It’s been delayed 3 times and now it’s on a 50 day ship hold. Dealership told me it had to do with staff shortages at the port and drivers. Anyone heard anything different? I’ve been calling around and nobody seems to have 4x4 platinums on the lot.

My dealer told me today there are driver issues at the port in Jax.
Apparently, there’s a special type of CDL required to transport the vehicles off the port.
My 1794 arrival date is 1/3 and a reported to the dealer date of 1/11, so we’ll see…

Thanks for the info. It really sucks as I sold my rig thinking my delivery was just around the corner lol. The rental car costs are killing me. I’m trying to find another platinum or 1794 out there but it’s virtually non existent. If you hear anything pop let me know!

Tye one I saw (1794) didn’t have them. I check the spec sheet and the build summary and neither were listed anywhere. However if you look closely at the virtual model in the bios and price, it sure does look like there are running boards on it…

it does not unless you select that power running boards package. The platinum I’ve reserved does not have them.

That is true for US customers. Here in Canada we dont get much choice.. You have few models to choose from and it is all factory pre-equipped..

Hmm...i've been leaning towards a 1794 Edition over a Limited or Platinum....my previous Tacomas were both SR5's....this time, as a first full size truck, I want a lil "NICE" to it.....got me curious. Following

UPDATE: I spoke to my dealer and my 1794 hit the port in Jax on 1/3. I'm adding the console safe (port installed option) and the order was "accepted."
Delivery still targeted for 1/11/22 - fingers crossed!!
