I haven’t. I have a very low reserve number as I reserved 35 mins after launch. But my dealer I asked what number am I and when does ordering open. They said January and everyone is the same. And that’s bogus

Yeah, unfortunately with the CM you get the massive hole in the roof with only the glass and napkin protecting you from above. I much prefer "normal" sized sunroofs myself but it seems everyone is going to this. However, it is great of Toyota to continue to offer the normal sized sunroof with the DC though as 2 of the big 3 decided to have ONLY panoramic sized roof holes in their crew cabs where extended or double cab trucks get NUTIN!

I wanted red but can’t get it in my area in TRDor with sunroof. Stupid but is a thing apparently.
Always wanted GX460 in pearl, probably would be cheaper option at this point but decided on windchill

Ya not really a fan of the huge pano. Worried about leaks/breakage. Not as concerned with the normal size sunroof. Guess I'll pass on the pano.

Not to dissuade you from the Tundra but my Tremor was 3% under invoice and took exactly 2 mos from order to delivery. Some are waiting much longer but i was careful with options (some hold up a build) and probably more than a little lucky.

Yeah at time of ordering (May) I was told tremors would take a while. So I ordered my 502 Lariat. It took 7 months lol. So I looked for in the lot Tremors briefly and no one was under MSRP. So I figured if I’m waiting again, might as well as try something new.

Honestly most the issues with the panos are the same as sunroofs. Just leaks due to bent or broken drainage tubes.

I don't know about that. On the Ford forum you and I frequent, MORE than 50% surveyed have had much bigger issues with theirs. I suspect Toyota would do a little better but the big issue with panos is the glass seam between the movable and non-movable pieces, the tracks and the rolled up tissue paper that is supposed to be an interior cover. Throw in the torsion (frame twisting) issue when 1 wheel instead of 1 axle is lifted, with nothing to support the roof, and it's a recipe for lots of issues. I skipped it on my F150 order because of all of that and I love sunroofs.

Granger Ford in Iowa is 3% under invoice on Tremors. They will even pick you up at the local airport.

Thought about the Rivian long and hard (Truck)…but decided to just go from my 2.5 to 3rd gen crewmax.

Trying to talk my wife into a Rivian SUV though …and she can give up her XC90 which would be ~9 years old by the time Rivian gets those out the door.

we will see how far I get with that conversation

How far out are those? I thought they were supposed to roll out first batches right now when they originally launched reservations.

Sometime in 22 now. And I keep seeing inconsistent info around which version will be initially released.

Electric Jesus is really good at raising money, and very bad at delivering quality products on time and on budget.

I think Rivian is going to be in the same boat.

Neither Tesla nor Rivian have a developed core competency of mass producing cars and trucks to a high level QDR standards. On top of it both lack any kind of nationwide service network. As scummy as some dealers are, there’s lots of places to get your legacy brand vehicle fixed or serviced.

Ford and GM are both poised to eat Tesla and Rivian’s lunch by simply getting their electric trucks to market in customers hands on time and on budget (at least if we ignore dealer markup shenanigans).

We can bag on the Big 3 all we want to but I can guarantee they have plenty of smart people working day and night to make sure their EV’s are actually production viable. Legacy auto makers are pretty damn good at making cars and trucks and doing it consistently. Tesla and Rivian are light years behind on the important part of the equation: scalability.

I would hate to be a Rivian or Tesla shareholder in a few years when everyone and their dog in the current automotive market is offering better made EV’s through a huge dealer network. Making an EV isn’t that hard, and battery technology is about the only area of innovation since electric motors are pretty well figured out at this point.

Was supposed to be Q4 2021. Then bumped to Q2 2022 and could be longer with supply chain issues.

A lot of this is just not correct. First Tesla churned out the Y and 3 before promised. Second, Tesla is starting a car company. Not a company that is pivoting to another vehicle like GM and Ford. A lot has gone longer than we’d wish. Why isn’t Toyota putting out the hybrid same time as the turbo? We live in a different word than 2 years ago.
Tesla is committed. Go check out the manufacturing facilities.

remember on here during last super bowl and many thought Toyota would announce the new tundra? The only difference is Toyota made no promises. They just kept buying their time but why do you think they delayed it almost a year? It’s harder than me make it out to build a new from scratch vehicle.

and lol at “making an EV isn’t that hard”. it certainly is harder than you give it credit for. Especially when, you know, you’re a starting a company. I mean, I do agree with scalability comment. But you’d be crazy to not want Tesla stock right now. It’s obvious you are not an intended customer.
