I am going to be purchasing a 2022 Tundra and would love some advice on what to buy. I really have two priorities with this purchase. I want the smoothest and quietest ride possible. I want to have no regrets about having not bought an option I might have wanted.

I will definitely be purchasing a 10 year platinum warranty (first model year so it just makes sense to me to do so). I also plan on having this a long time.

My first decision is hybrid vs non hybrid. I know hybrid is not out yet. Is one quieter than the other? Will I regret not having hybrid? Will hybrid have more or less issues as an engine?

Second decision is if I go with 1794 should I go with AVS suspension or TRD package suspension. It feels if i spend all this money on the 1 of 2 trims that allow you to get the AVS suspension i should get it? Shouldn’t the air suspension be smoothest while driving?

Third decision is should I order a TRD Pro instead of a 1794? Interior will be a little less nice but how would drive compare? Can all these trucks come out already and get on the road?

Honestly man, what everyone else thinks doesn’t matter, it’s all subjective anyways

    here is my .02

wait till spring or summer when there are more available and you can test drive each one and see them in person. Then drive them around and pick what you like

As far as quiet, there all the same, judging by the video dB meter , very good

drive them yourself though, a bunch of biased guys on the internet aren’t much help when it’s your 50-60k

I'm not getting the hyrbid for one reason only: The battery takes up the storage space under the rear seat.

If you want a chrome plated jukebox with everything I suggest you wait until Toyota announces the "Capstone" trim.

I think it’s worth going up to a limited if you want anything upgraded and aren’t concerned with your financial situation.

As others have said, a lot depends on your financial situation and what you intend to use the truck for. AVS is not for smooth ride, it is for load leveling capability. Keep that is mind when thinking about options. The Hybrid will be better mileage when it comes out, but does have the issue of taking up the under seat storage unfortunately (not clear who made that misguided decision). For quiet ride, assume higher grades will be quieter, hybrid will be about the same. For the different suspensions, drive them. The TRD Off Road is very smooth, but base or sport might be also.

Also note the limited and up trims have suspension body mounts, so theoretically the limited and ups will have a better ride. Wether or not you notice it.

I can pretty well guarantee there’s no way I’d be dropping $65k unless I could physically see and get into what I was considering, but that’s just me.

Personally, I think the 1794 interior is cool as hell. All that said, i am admittedly old school and don’t want all the other techy stuff in it.

Just an observation. Your @ is 2020 Cement SR5. I’m assuming that used to be your truck. But you’re currently driving a 2021 Lunar Rock Sequoia TRD Pro. And now you’re swapping into a 2022 Tundra after less than a year? Not picking on you; just saying…are you really going to keep it a long time? Because purchasing a 10-year warranty might not really be necessary.

Warranty or not air suspension is a problem. Always. If you are keeping it past 10 years get the TRD OF fully loaded limited crewmax longbed pretty close to having everything. U give up power running boards and the fancy leather interior.
Having owned old Range Rover, and old Lexus with air suspension deleted because of the insane cost to repair, I won’t mess around with it for anything I’m going to keep past 2-3 years.

Agree with the no air suspension. My brother has wrestled with his Mercedes GL’s air suspension for years and at great cost. When we purchased my wife’s Jeep GC I purposefully got the highest trim available that did not have air suspension (Limited with Lux2). Had to give up adaptive cruise (which I love) to do so. But worth not having the headache.
