Welp. Nevermind. The dealership called me and said their website is grossly mistaken on the shipping. They want $500 to ship the tonneau cover instead of the $45 shipping that the website listed. Canceled the order. I guess I'll wait until the dealerships in my local area can order them.

:annoyed: that's a slight bit of money for shipping...

I agree. That's the reason I'm not ordering from Sparks like a lot of folks. Their shipping is pretty outrageous too.

I get that their website "estimates" shipping, but to be that far off is pretty egregious. Oh well. Just have to wait a bit longer I suppose.

On a side note...I went onto Amazon about the BakFlip MX4 Tri-Fold for the 2021's and asked if they had tried fitment on a 22 yet. Someone from the "manufacturer" responded to the question and said, "Yes, this does carry over for the 2022 Tundra with the deck rail system."

I'm thinking about ordering off of Amazon since I can return if it doesn't fit. Plus Amazon offers free shipping.

I saw somewhere that another member tried their ‘21 cover on their new ‘22 and it worked. Not sure of the make but it’s worth a search.

what I’ve found is some Toyota dealerships have a parts department online parts.Toyota.somethinghere. If you search your “local” dealers websites (ie in your state, or local to your area) parts department, the shipping is generally reasonable, and you can look at various dealers parts and see who offers the best discount. I have the TRD skidplate on its way, 22.17% discount, from a dealer in my state with shipping $29. My local dealer couldn’t beat the discount even picking it up. Now for my running boards, I got them from another local dealer where picking them up was cheaper than shipping (maybe the size / weight made the shipping much higher) and they did offer a discount online.

bottom line, go to each dealers website, see if they have online parts ordering (some dealers do, some don’t), then basically rip through them all comparing shipping/discount/tax…out the door price.

That is the part number for the steps for the crewmax. It was ordered via the dealership though, not sparks. The rear bracket just needs loosened on the step and slid back to match the truck. Bit dark/wet outside to climb under for a pic, but you can see in the photo here how each has a pair of brackets close that need one pushed further to the end. It really lines up perfectly beyond that.

Shipping wise, the stuff is heavy, and oversized. The running boards unboxed fit diagonally in my 5.5ft bed. The cover was about 6-7ft long in the box. Shipping those anywhere is going to add a good cost to things. If you are wanting Toyota parts now, call around to dealers and maybe take a long drive one day if needed to pick them up.

@jimfish98 are you going to keep the first post updated with link to both verified Toyota and aftermarket part #’s until 1) Toyota updates their site to show actual part # alleviating that pressure and 2) as aftermarket comes available from 3rd parties?

would really help those browsing the site and forum.

Thanks for confirming the part number and the photos. The running boards look great. Now I just need to find a dealer in TX that carries them. Sparks charges too much money for shipping. If anyone knows of a dealer in TX with these please let me know.

I had this on my 2015 (MX4)…worked well and from what I see it’s the same design as the Toyota’s.

if you go to the Bak website you can also locate their local/online dealers…some of the “preferred” local ones have showrooms where you can get a look at the products and talk to a person / installer

I know Toyota outsources their hard tri-fold covers to a 3rd Party and then brands them "Toyota." I've heard differing stories on who the actual manufacturer is. One parts guy told me it was BakFlip and another told me was WeatherTech (I didn't realize they made tonneau covers).

Either way, I agree...it looks nearly identical to the Toyota branded one. I ended up ordering the BakFlip MX4 via Amazon. It'll be here next week. Since everyone seems to be saying that the bed covers designed for the 2021s will fit on the 2022s...I thought it might be a relatively safe bet. Plus, Amazon's return policy is pretty forgiving if it doesn't work out.

I'll keep everyone posted. If it arrives Wednesday (as estimated) then I'll put it on next weekend.

I believe Lomax makes the WeatherTech tonneau cover.

The factory trifolds flip up against the rear window. they have a strut that holds them up like I believe the Baklip MX4's have. Pretty nice feature that Toyota added to their factory tonneau.

Picked up my TRD running boards this afternoon, hopefully will have them installed today or tomorrow and can confirm the part # and if there is a difference between bolt they recommend and those already on the truck. They have the same look and feel as the spray in bed liner. Also notice the bolt pattern, easy to identify the front.

Couple of questions for those who have already installed items.

    1. Looking to install TRD Front skid plate. Anyone already been down this road with ordering and install?
    2. TRD Rear Sway Bar? Anyone already been down this road with ordering and install?

Skidplate I have on order, waiting on shipping. It’s generally pretty easy on all vehicles from past experiences. Planning to post pics of the swap.

L3560 Limited. Picked it up this spring, terrific machine

also can confirm part # for the TRD aboard a is correct, and no need for the screws if you already have them under the truck.

jimfish98 Did the side steps require different size bolts? Or did the ones already on the truck work for you?

also, did you torque to spec? If so, what torque?

Nice, bet it's the bees knees for plowing snow! I've worked the crap out of mine and it just keeps going with only one sensor issue.

Highly highly doubtful with the new rear spoiler design and the bed size.
