Please ignore the 3 bolts holding it up and how it is hanging down a bit, but I get you the cardboard template for the gen 3 tundra cat plate!! I am going to spend tomorrow making a good drawing and sending it off to be made so I can test fit a production plate.

I also made a crappy cardboard template for the tow hook mounts.

On the new Gen 3s are you going to have to make two separate plates like the previous ones? Good for you getting a Gen 4 for you to get a MOC up made.

For cat protection, a single plate will protect them

Before installing the shields is it a good idea to replace the Oxygen Sensors, seeing how it would be a difficult to remove the shields at a later date if the sensors were to fail?

I have not heard of anyone doing so or of anyone having to remove the plates to remove the O2 sensors

With the down time today, I started on the lifted front skid plate, I have a rough template made, I am going to make it out of thin steel and test fit it on other lifts. I also worked on my nephews custom front bumper we are building. No where near done, but it is coming together, plus he is learning to work with metal and to weld

I ordered two plates around October 1. I later added pentagon bolts and the pro nut plate. I received everything on December 26.

I am very happy with everything! Installation was super easy. Great quality.

I waited 11 months for Uncle Sam to approve my Form 4 transfers and send me a few tax stamps. This was nothing.

You are the first person who has installed the nut plate! Did it work well?

Also, happy new year’s! Besides a few orders (that will be taken care of in the next week or 2) I am caught up into mid October right now. I am getting plates in almost everyday whether it is from cut or powder coat. I will be able to blow into November and December with what is coming in, I am very excited to be completely caught up within a month of orders soon.

The 2022 tundra cat plate is getting drawn up and will have the first one made within the next week. I am excited to officially add this to my website! This weekend I plan on making an ugly metal template I can bolt up to lifted tundras in January. I will be calling any and all subframe lifted trucks in the Houston area to test fit this skid plate. I want this to be universal so I will be test fitting on rough country, Readylift (I made the template off of a pro +4), pro comp, bds and hopefully some other too. I want this one to release in January. The 2022 tow hooks will take some development, I have a rough design for one, but I don’t know if it will clear the air dam (the one I designed off of didn’t have the air dam). Also as long as I am knee deep in designing, I need to finally knock out the V3 rear cat plate. I think for simplicity purposes I will need doing the 2wd one first as it will be exactly like what is out now except it will have an option to protect the middle area that is mostly taken up by the transfer case for the 4x4’s. The 4x4 one will be the one that will change the most, lots of options will be added for it

The pro nut plate worked perfectly.

The guy that suggested/invented this deserves the Nobel prize in catalytic converter theft plate installation innovation.

Anyone noticed an audible creaking noise from inside the cab after installing these? Comes from the passenger side and is heard when stopping or starting. Thinking it could be the plate and frame rubbing together.

Did you remove the little transfer skid plate before installing the skids? There have been reports of the skid hitting that little transfer skid when not removed.

That stinks and would be super annoying :(. I added neoprene foam to the plates before installing just so no additional noises. Just drove a good 400+ miles loaded with family and all our crap. No issues or noises at all. Avg 17 mpg highway…not sure if aerodynamics are improved at all with the plates.

Here’s a link to a video of the creaking. You can hear it at 0:02, 0:05, and 0:08. Again, not saying the cat shield is necessarily causing it, but that’s the only thing I’ve done to the truck and it only has 8,000 miles.

If you are willing, I will most definitely look at it, and even if it isn’t my plates, I will look around to see if there is something else. Not matter what, I want to help

Hello I am the same truck as you even same color, 21 Pro Lunar. I am a ways out from getting my plate but was curious on your installation.

Do you just basically remove the 2 bolts and nuts off the TRD pro plate and replace with Tylers hardware and the nut plate? Also did you have to loosen the rest of the TRD pro skid plate fasteners to allow room for the shield to sandwich in between the frame and TRD skid plate? My shield is probably a ways out from shipping since I ordered earlier December but want to get prepared. Its a 1/4 " red powdercoat aluminum. Thanks!

Had a couple options for my install. Decided on the black steel ramp washers and the screwd security bolts so will have a set of penta bolts and 8 extra ramp washers for sale shortly…

That is indeed a strange noise and actually quite loud. Interested to know if it’s actually the skid plates. I as well installed a foam strip between the plates for a just in case scenario. As Tyler mentioned he will evaluate and take care of it if indeed being the skids.
