I'm confused. What brought this about? I thought this got squashed when @Totherion had the entire story?

I didn't see anything that would lead up to this kind of send off...

    Another vote for
Crewmax for kids car seats, had swollen belly twice , dc and crewmax , have to have crewmax for car seats and all the other shit you will be pack mule with you.

One question for the new owners , did they improve the design of the rear anchor tether so you don’t have to go up and through to the other side of the seat to anchor it like now? What a pita that was

Our local dealer finally got a new Tundra in, I was on duty and got a call so I only got to see it for a couple minutes. Couple bullet points on my visit

Definitely, like DEFINITELY, better looking in person.
Definitely have to color match the mustache
Can't believe a power driver seat isn't standard equipment
The adventure tire and wheel combo is pretty nice...better looking than the TRD off-road wheels in my opinion.
The 8 inch infotainment screen is not as small as I thought, plenty enough for the non tech peeps.
I didn't get to get in the backseat but it definitely looks smaller than my crewmax.
The composite bed is very nice, even has built in gaps to place dividers across.

I'll head back after the holiday weekend and see what others they have coming in and try to take some pics.

Not sure what exactly you're asking about but my truck has hooks for the tethers where the seat back meets the bottom, same as our Corolla does.

no not the latch, the rear tether for forward facing, you have to go up through the head rest and then over to the other headrest area where there is the second loop to anchor to

If I think of it I’ll look in the book and snap a pic , there are loops up by the headrest area for this , but it’s kinda a pita

I was think since the new one folds forward now they may have put a more traditional anchor point for it

This has to be tongue in cheek or some other inside joke by now. If not, then perhaps MRM should do as Elsa says and "Let It Go."

Stopped by my friendly Toyota store in Rapid City, SD (closest dealer to me) to buy windshield wiper blades for my 2007.

They had one 2022 Tundra SR5 on the showroom floor in @Darkness black over black softex. Crewmax, 4X4, big screen etc. Sales guy indicated the truck was already sold so I didn’t finger fuck someone else’s new baby. Was told MSRP was $54K and change, no mention of dealer markup so tentatively Denny Menholt Toyota of Rapid City, SD are strait shooters still.

Brief observation was that the truck looks much much better in person than in photos. I already liked it, but in the sheet metal cemented it for me. Being an SR5 it had a color matched grille surround so the new owner won’t have to drive around Hulk Hogan’s face. Interior looked very nice, practically a damn spaceship compared to my trusty old 2007 Limited Double Cab. Rear seat room was cavernous compared to my old Double Cab.
