Hey since you sat back there, any thoughts on fitment and comfort when a rear facing car seat back is there?

I’m not sure. I have no idea how big baby car seats are?

Agree 100% about getting the crewmax if a baby is coming. Car seats eat up silly amounts of room.

As a father of two, rear facing is not what you should be worried about. Eventually (after about two years is when they exceed the weight limit) they will be forward facing and that is what the issue will be. Right now I am driving a mid size suv and with my seat ¾ of the way back, my 3 year old has his legs bent and push against my seat from the way they are sitting. It gets worse as they get bigger with the boosters as it forces their legs out and not down the seat edge.

In my opinion (I will probably be shot down even though it is just my opinion), crewmax is the only way to go if you have kids.

I'm not disagreeing with any of these statements as I bought a CM for the same reason but I present the following as a thought exercise: We have a rear facing car seat in the back of my wife's 2013 Corolla. My wife normally rides in the back seat if our daughter is with us but she rides up front if it's just the two of us. So far I haven't heard any complaints about space from her (though she does rant and rave about how luxurious the back seat of the truck is). Does a DC (either 2.5 gen or 3rd gen) have less rear seat space than a previous generation compact sedan?

Fitment issues with the rear bumper, rubber seal around the window has a gap, taillight is loose and possibly squeaky.

My wife has a lexus nx. We have the carpet behind the driver's seat. With the rear facing car seat I could drive but my seat was pushed up against the back of the car seat. With the current car seat her legs would be smashed with the seat in a comfortable position for me. My wife is 5'4 so my daughter is fine with her driving, but I'm almost 6'4 and I would be squished in the driver's seat with my daughter behind me. I would say her back seat is similar to the double cab. In the crewmax, my daughter can comfortably ride behind me, but still able to kick the back of the seat and get it filthy.

They are just doing a buyers guide on each of the trims showing what's available in each trim level. The full title is don't buy a Tundra until you watch this video, they aren't saying anything negative.

Not really learning anything new that we weren't already aware of. As I was typing this, they just said that their people at Toyota told them pricing will be similar to the 1794 version. 1794 more luxury, pro more offroad, but similar price wise.

I bought a new 2013 Tundra DC when my daughter was born because Ford and Chevy had the backwards doors (would have to open the front to open the back and you have a baby and car seat it was deal breaker) and Dodges extended cab seemed smaller and I had owned a Dodge and wasn’t happy. Thus I bought the 2013 DC Tundra because the crew cab for any brand was more than I wanted to spend. It served my family of three well until 2020 when I bought a midlife crisis jeep Gladiator. When GMC and Chevy updated to rear doors that opened the right way I was pretty surprised at how little leg room there was. I’m disappointed to hear the new Tundra DC is smaller in the back than the one I had. I thought that truck was the perfect combination of enough space, even on a long ride for the occasional adult, and the right amount of bed space all for less than CrewMax pricing. I’m in a different position now and can buy what I want for the most part but think a CrewMax with 6.5 bed might be one very long truck. Ideally the 2022 DC would have the same feel inside for rear space as my 2013.

The engine was introduced in the LS500 about 4 years ago. Has the oil requirement changed?

When we had our first, the wife was driving a 2013 4runner. The Britax seat we initially picked would not fit. I don't mean without moving the seat up - it wouldn't fit at all. So there are different size car seats and that one was a tank. We wound up returning that one and getting the slightly smaller one. Was the 4Runner a bad example? IDK we've had other vehicles like the Highlander and the Sequoia which haven't been problematic. Now. My kids are older and it matters less.

Ha, half the time she takes them off as soon as she gets in the truck. Seems like the only time she leaves them on is when they are dirty. Almost like she just wants to make designs on the back of my seat.

We were poor starting off and never had kids. I'm sure one day you would give an arm to see her mud-art your seats again. Enjoy the trip

O I don't mind it. Damp rag and 10 seconds and it's clean. Dirty shoes just means we were having fun.

Great point. My sons are almost 17 and 14, with the elder wanting to join the Marines. They grow FAR too fast.

The mud-art brings up another good point. Leather is SOOO much nicer for cleaning up kid messes.

Getting the 3 “P”s out of cloth is brutal, lol.

I really didn't want leather when I got my truck, just felt the cloth were more comfortable. Thankfully I ended up with a Pro and leather was my only option. With a kid and 2 dogs, and myself my seats would be ruined with cloth.

…or you are trying to clean every 2 days to prevent the cloth from being ruined as in my case…but at some point you kinda “give up/give in” and accept them being kids once and my poor cloth interior is a material thing

What a great outlook! In the end, I’m sure you’ll remember your kids and not the slightly soiled truck seats. I know, enough all ready

Anyone see how to make your truck automatically log you in when turning it on without having to select your profile and putting in your 6 digit pin every time?

I think I’ll just sit back and wait for the thorough instructional YouTube video lol this truck is complicated.

I recall hearing you can power off your spare key fob as well. I couldn’t find that info in the manual.
