2020 Wheels, Tires, Sensors, and Valve stems - info and questions

I have a 2022 White SR5 Sport Premium. I had new wheels (20x9, +18 offset) and BFG's (285/65r20) put on at Discount Tire. (I went with 20's instead of 18's for a reason that is irrelevant to this post.) They fit without rubbing. Came within 1/4 inch of hitting the felt at the bottom in the front. The Sport Premium is lower in the front than other packages. The offset pushed the wheel just slightly wide of the fender - maybe less than a 1/2 inch. Looked good. They were great and tested everything before having to pull the trigger. So I gave them the ok and they came back a bit later explaining that the valve stems and wheel sensors are new and they can't transfer them or find more of them anywhere. I've searched the forums and FB group but can't find anything about this. They tried to contact Toyota and are waiting to hear back. Anybody dealt with this already? Obviously people have other wheels that are working.
So for now I have the BFG's on the stock 20" wheels which looks pretty good also, but trying to figure out what to do about these sensors and valve stems. If this has been covered and my search skills just suck please feel free to let me know. Thx!

They say why the can’t transfer the existing ones?

 

They just said they are new sensors and they won't transfer. I would prefer to get new sensors so I have them on both wheel sets, but they couldn't find them listed anywhere either. That part isn't as surprising.

 

Hey @Trailtoast, what are your stock wheels? Are they alloys or steel? Does 2022 even come with steel wheels? lol

I had mine done yesterday at Discount Tire and they transferred everything from my OEM TRD Off Road wheels over to the Fuel Vector. If your Discount won't do it, could you try a different location? It might come down to those people?

It's possible that if he's going from steels to alloys (or vice versa) that the two types of wheels require different part number sensors because each wheel type has a different seat angle.

I dig it! I’ll be adding some chunkier rubber at some point. I’m debating whether I want to do so before the tires it comes with are worn out.

 

can you tell if one wheel sticks out more than the other in the rear like we have now?

I have +35 right now and that puts it dead even all the way around except for the right rear which sticks out past the fender a touch since one side is more

Very interesting. The back right wheel sticks out about 1 1/4 inch further than the left.

if so, that really blows, I thought they would have done away with that this time around.

but glad I know now, I may not go full flush then and leave them tucked just a hair.

I want a 18" black wheel, I don't think toyota offers that except the pro ones on the 2022 tundra which Im not spending that kinda money on and don't really like.

 

Do you know why this is? Or do you know of a resource that explains the engineering of it?

Can they / Will they adjust the speedometer for the different sizes? Could someone with a 2WD pull this off? I want the larger and blockier style tires, I don't care if they are off-road or all seasons. I just want that look. I have stock 20's on a 22 Limited 2WD CM 5.5
