Edit/update: New thermostat installed. Fridge works great. Next step is to remove old duct tape and put on the insulated cover that has been purchased for it. New LED for inside is en route

Couldn’t wait on renogy anymore and the dc-dc mppt, so I bought a victron mppt and put it in instead. Funny thing is while I was installing this today I received notification of shipment from renogy. Last steps are to mount the solar panel on top of the toolbox and run wires to fridge in bed. I’m sure I’ll tinker around with it more and add more to it. Also, I realize I used red wire for both positive and negative. Put black tape on the ends of the negatives.

Finally got the solar panel mounted. Need to add in some rubber bushings and wire it up. Potentially paint the frame black.. not sure how that’ll impact performance

A little more progress today. Close to finishing (I hope). Need to wire the SB50 connector on the truck side and onto fridge cord. Going to pull out the old wire for the toolbox lights as they’ll get power from the battery now. Those need to be wired in as well. Putting together a list for Powerwerx for odds and ends. Plan is to have at least the fridge up and running by the time I go back into work next Monday. As with any electrical work, slightly nervous and keeping an eye on it.

Going to have to relocate the mppt and battery out of the toolbox and into the bed. Got a little toasty on our Labor Day weekend trip to AZ.

front runner rack. Not sure how I’ll mount it but hope to be able to fab something up

    edit:
    338EE417-8B91-49CA-8AC6-DCE5DFD74319.jpg
was able to get the front runner rack shortened from 6’ to 4’ and hopefully it’ll fit my application a little better. I now know why front runner gets the money they do for their racks. Their tolerances are really tight; I’d say less than a 100/1000 of an inch. Tried to freehand drill two holes and ended up having to file them out. Had some good help so was able to get it all figured out. Just waiting on the tnutz extruded aluminum to arrive for the rack legs.

Rears went in with one little snafu..
    A6FAF253-F6F4-4C64-BF3D-7059A8DBDE5F.jpg

This was before I moved the reservoir up on top of this metal frame piece.
    15842C0C-C6EF-4942-B098-5738776543D0.jpg
Turns out you should test fit things and not rely on manufacturers instructions 100%. The instructions provided by Fox are for adjusters and non-adjusters and they say to mark your drill hole for the bracket "over 18" and up 2.5" on the frame as shown below.
    66CCE1EB-83D2-4BC0-BF29-718266A48806.jpg
Did exactly that. Measured maybe ~ 8 times and if my drill had a measurement DRO on it, pretty sure my hole would be within 10/1000". But I also did so without test fitting anything. When I went to mount the reservoir it simply wouldn't go in without contorting the hose.
    66259D84-98F5-4D58-B00C-FFE19319DCBC.jpg

Completely perplexed I went inside to go on good ole tundras.com but couldnt find any images. Part of me was convinced they made the hose too long but another part said there's no way they'd make that mistake. Went onto accutunes website and sure enough.. the hose is the right length but the instructions are wrong. Looking back at the instruction page it has a non-clicker (shorter) which allows for it to fit in the space they designated. Notice how accutune's is turned down due to the extra length of hose? Wanted to do that but couldn't because the rear sway bar gets in the way.
    after-rear-suspension-Tundra-scaled.jpg
So if you cant go down.. you go up. Had to take the bracket off and shift it and re-drill another hole. Needed to be careful because of bed mounts up there etc etc. Not super stoked about having an extra hole in my frame but what can you do. Hope this helps someone

Good news is my rear end feels buttery smooth compared to the bilsteins I had on before:thumbsup:

Got the rear window and parking sensor switches relocated to a more user friendly location. Made a couple blemishes with the oscillating tool on the trim piece, but still happy with how it turned out

Updated the toolbox solar panel to a black framed one. Not sure the juice was worth the squeeze on this one but it looks nice

    Thanks!
According to Amazon and Renogy the dimensions of the black framed panel were the same as the aluminum. Welp, it’s pretty remarkable how much 0.5” can mess with things when it comes to mounting and lining up holes:annoyed:. Couple hours and custom brackets later, we’re good :)
