What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Haven’t really taken notice actually, it just feels normal to me. Bumps do feel softer though.

 

Changed my oil today and l put some Mobil 1 EP in. I also installed my Fumoto valve. Additionally the Motivx kit is highly recommended because it makes the change much cleaner.

On a side note I needed a breaker bar to take the filter canister off but the filter drain plug was super easy which was surprising. The dealership did the last oil change. I torqued everything back up to spec which should make it easier next time…

Fixing bed rot before it gets too bad. Damn foam seam sealer that factory used just held water in.

 

Good god… Luckily all I needed was a 2.5 pipe over the wrench.

 

Wow, that's pretty bad for a 14, did you have a drop in bed liner?

 

The rear makes more of a difference for sure but I could also see an improvement (for me anyway) when I replaced the factory bar.

They received a cease and desist from Toyota so they no longer sell them.

 

AJT doesn’t make the Toyota logo overlay anymore. They had some copyright issues. I think they’re on eBay somewhere still though.

The LineX shop did the work but yes they took off the front and rear bumper completely.

 

are those the AVS low profile vent shades?

 

yes I did but it had nothing to do with it. Toyota used a foam type seam sealer around the main cross braces that ABSORBED water like a sponge. The rust starts in the layers of steel between the bed floor and those braces.

It’s crazy and they knew about it because of the TSB out there for the 07-13’s.

funny thing is I was looking at my buddy’s 2018 and it’s still the same.

 

Reviews were mixed, but I really like it. There’s a dial to adjust the foam thickness. It was a great gift…just what I wanted.

 

I installed one on my 17 about a month ago. I do not get the light that you’re talking about. Might wanna call them and see if they can help.

 

Just make sure the fittings are tight and o-ring is in place at the hose connection. Mine didn’t leak and worked like a champ. Play with the setting to get the foam thickness you like. Setting too high drinks up all the soap fast though.

 

I just put one on mine and love it. Super easy install, took me about an hour. The hardest part was fishing the wire from the passenger side to the driver side, but that wasn’t even that hard.

 

That's how the 2018+ kits works the TPMS light will be on until you insert the key.

 

Can you buy the braces you removed or do you have to fab them?
I'm hoping having the underside of mine oiled every year helps prevent that. Good luck!

 

I need to fine tune mine, I don't get all the way around the truck before it's runs out of soap and I have to refill it.
