Dunno if it's been posted, it's for the lc but a lot still applies to the tundra. Wish they would of done the lc style of power steering in the new tundra instead of the all electric. Engine looks like a nightmare to work on and lots of plastic fittings in all those coolant lines. Cool video though show you guys some of the tgna platform stuff and the engine and trans.

Agreed. I'm fine with folks explaining what they do or don't like about the new gen but I don't need to read "I'm not buying it because of x, y and z" from the same poster every second post.

They look really bad. I think it’s only lower in the front.

You can tell tommy really hates Toyota. Most of the things he said he didn’t like about this truck not having ARE available options but they got the first truck they could and now are sad that they didn’t get the options they wanted. That’s not Toyota’s fault.

Not to stick my head in the lion’s mouth here, but my take on Tommy’s comments were that he would have expected some of those higher end features on the Limited. In a lot of ways, I agree - having to go to the Platinum to get leather is quite annoying (and here in Canada, there are rumours that we don’t even get Softex but rather cloth) and the lack of power running boards (again, I believe a Canada thing) is like, come on now.

For me, really appreciate all the comments and insights here. I am really torn, I love the look of the ‘22 and I am not coming from a previous Tundra, so no bias there. But the price point shocked me a bit and knowing I gravitate toward the hybrid means an even higher cost. Combined with the ridiculous Toyota interest rates and crazy Ontario taxes, makes it hard to think about pulling the trigger.

Not sure if this info means anything but from the ground to top of the wheel well it measures

39" in the rear an 36" in the front on the SR5 TRD SPORT

So they gave it more rake? :der:

Why wouldn't they have just lowered the rear?

Get that cool 70s look. What's the widest tires I can put in the rear without rubbing?

That’s an insane amount of rake. The standard rake is 2.5 which to me is still a lot.

I’m guessing shorter springs would either have to reduce payload and towing or comfort. So they sacrificed looks instead.

Sorry, my front wheels went flat

Just kidding around. I'm living in the 70's and don't think it looks bad but "hip" left me a long time ago

To each there own. There’s a reason leveling kits are so popular.

It would have been smart (imo) on the upper level trims to include a "chrome delete" package.

Shhhhh. Don't say that. You'll upset the hive mind.

Nothing to see here.... Everyone LOVES having to do a chrome delete and posting about it as their first mod.

Lord knows this site has a bazillion posts about painting plastic...

Yea. It makes no sense. But saying this and not making love to the 22 tail pipe makes me Negative Nancy.

I’ll probably get the new Gen at some point but I’m hoping in a few years they address some of its shortcomings.

You must have watched a different video than I did. Overall he was positive about the truck. He did point out a few things he expected a truck in that price range to have, but 2 years ago those things would have been standard on a 55,000 truck.

Ya. Stock sr5 or off road is said to be 2.5, my current truck was 2 1/4 stock I think. I’ll be shooting for about 1/1.5” down the road with New springs not spacers.

Is there any reason to not buy from a out of town dealer? Any Toyota dealer will work on your truck if there issues or scheduled maintenance or something?

Sounds to me your Bending the definition of perspective facts are facts. He was comparing old gen tundra to new gen tundra. I can understand coming from a smaller vehicle but alot of buyers are coming from 2.5 gen like me! And I was disappointed to see many negatives on the next tundra but all of the positive things out weight the bad stuff. I think the new gen is going to be awesome definitely with 35in tires.

It was not happy about going into 4 low was it? Not sure if he was doing something wrong or if just wouldn't engage.

Agree - it’s such a sensible review. It’s not fanboy love or anti-22 hate.
