Tacoma owner looking to move up here. I've seen pics of the '22 with color-matched wheel arch trim. What trim/package is that available on?

Got my name on a White SR5 TRD sport premium package. Black softex interior. Include spray in bedliner, heated steering wheel, Advanced tech package, Premium-Audio Package. Build date is Jan 3. Delivery date according to my salesman is sometime mid February. This going to be my first pickup. :D

Got the TRD Sport cause I wanted color matched mustache, fender, and rear bumper. Don't like chrome or black fenders. Only downside I don't like is the lowered suspension with the TRD sport package. Will be lifting when aftermarket are available.

Can anyone confirm something about the lowered suspension? Been getting mixed answers. Some says its just 0.5" lower in front. Other are saying its 0.5" lowered front and rear.

If the rear is same height as other trims package. I just wanna level the front to match rears. If it's lowered front and rear. I'll be doing full lift kit.

The more I learn about this new Gen the more I’m concerned I’ll have to go look at Fords. I will give it a few years. Perhaps they will clean this mess up a bit.

You have a 17... You can just keep it for 5-10 more reliable years... or deal with 5 years at the dealership when your F.O.R.D. breaks down constantly...

I am mostly sure it is a 1/2" drop all the way around. I was going to lift when I get mine but have decided not to.

    The 2022 Tundra.

    The front end
    The cost
    The 5 inches longer.
    The smaller/tighter cab.

The more real world owner reports that come out the more disappointed I am in this redesign.

I thought the 22’s on the used lots were there because the dealer tagged the new trucks so they could turn around and sell them as used trucks at whatever price they want and skirt the local regulations or Toyota corporates ire.

I am willing to bet in a few months he will trade his tundra for the new one. Just like he does the tacoma to keep making contents.

Hmm. If this is the case with the lower suspension on TRD sports. I was thinking I may just get rear spring from other trim packages and get front leveled when front coils become available then. Just looking to get a leveled truck on some 35 tires.

It's all about choices and perspective.

    1. Chose not to buy it and move on. The other perspective is many have chosen to buy a new Tundra and remain happy with the purchase.
    2. Chose to accept and purchase or not to pay.
    3. 5 Inches longer. See Point one. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
    4. Smaller/tighter Cab. All about expectations and fit. Some on us are coming from smaller cabbed vehicles. This makes it much larger for us. The increased cab size, seat comfort and fit are great (My Perspective-Current daily is a 17 4Runner TRD PRO and fun ride is a Roush RS3)

Only thing I would offer; be happy for those of us who are enjoying the decision with buying the new Tundra.

Has anyone seen a table comparison with other competing trucks on factory off road attributes ie ground clearance, approach/departure, skidplate count, 4lo ratio, axle travel, tire, wheel size etc.

I’m very happy for you! I hope you get many years of service from the new Tundra.
But, from your own perspective, be understanding of the current Gen owners frustration in what they feel is in many areas a failure on Toyotas part given the amount of time they have had to produce this new truck.
    Have a great day!

Some dwell on the negative while others the positive. Couple of 4Runners in my past with a few Tundra's thrown in. Nothing is mechanically nor designed to meet everyone's expectations.
Simply stated, Nothing is perfect in life, it's how we deal with it and move it forward in a positive outlook. Good Luck

I’m not looking for an argument with my posts. But, your post I just don’t understand. Looking at every angle and providing an opinion is not negative. It’s another persons view point. Plain and simple. There are things that I have, over time and research of this new Gen grown to not like.
For example and another one. I really like the look of the new PRO. But, I don’t need a PRO. The next best trim IMO is the SR5 but there’s many features you can’t get in the SR5. Then you move on to the mid/upper tier trims to get the features needed/wanted but they chrome the things up. Did Toyota not take notice of all the chrome delete/ hood bulges and grills that were being sold? I guess not.
This may change in a few years.
This is an open discussion. You’ll have to live with with what you perceive as negative much like I happily respect the views of members who see nothing but positives with this new GEN.

Give these folk a hundred dollar bill and they'll bitch about it being wrinkled. It's the joy of pissing people off and raining on their parade aka jealousy! I want to hear the bad and the good but not over & over & over. Just look at the deal breaking threshold some have....lol

Nobody is giving anyone wrinkled or crisp hundred dollar bills. On the contrary they're taking away many, MANY hundreds of people's hundred dollar bills and giving them less than they were hoping for and expecting. If some people want to bitch about, it in a forum DESIGNED for that, why can't they? If some people who are happy with the truck and want express that in a forum DESIGNED for that, why can't they? Either one is fine. What's not okay, and creates hundreds of pages of essentially garbage, back and forth arguing, is people who put DOWN those bitches because they're happy. Yes, the unhappy people throw zingers that try to make the happy people less so but the first stone was thrown by the former and it has escalted into the garbage, animosity swapping thing we now have here (and the reason for the "over and over" mentioned).

You’re incorrect. There’s no jealousy on my end. I could buy the new Gen tomorrow.
You’re post could easily be construed as being negative. The hypocrisy of it all.

    Please reread quote:
I want to hear the bad and the good but not over & over & over
Oh, you are correct about being a forum and anyone can post what they want. Some want to hold up a mirror for others to look into but it goes over their head. I have some things I wish Toyota would have done and stated them. Check out some post by a few that go to every thread and post the same negative over an over just wanting a reaction, not to inform. The hundred dollar bill was not meant literally.

Would you like me to post on every thread that

    I love my truck
every other truck brand owner are stupid
Toyota is weeding out the hillbillies with the price increase...that's a good thing
every previous Tundra are junk compared
    paid cash
go make your heap as loud as you can, someone may finally notice you

Would you get a little tired of it......this is the mirror!
