@jimfish98 - thanks for all the research! Out of curiosity, why did you go with the OEM tonneau compared to an RC for approximate half the price?

One of the first additions for mine will be a tonneau cover, so I’m curious about differences (including differences of opinion).

Time more than anything. I haven't seen covers and most are giving it up to a few months. I have kids, trips coming up, etc and a covered bed is needed fast.

This is my issue also…although I may checkout the RC since it looks the same (hard trifold) tonthe OEM and Backflip that I had on my 2015

The RC tri-fold compatible with the beds w/o cargo management appears in-stock. If that helps.

It is cheaper, but also "shipping soon"...when is soon? If tomorrow wasn't Christmas my cover would be here tomorrow. Everything will be in town Monday for me with Toyota.

I really need the boards before anything else. Crewmax. What is the correct part number from sparks for such. Did they only have one type that would fit? Is that the pic with the Toyota symbol ?

Posting this for anyone watching this thread with a 2022 Double Cab and looking for steps/running boards....

I just ordered a set of the Toyota Predator steps for my 2022 SR5 Double Cab at my local dealership. Of course, they don't have any in stock, but they showed the regional distro center was going to get stock in a week or two. They estimated 10 to 12 business days after the holiday. Toyota Part # is PT925-34220. I hope that's right. The parts manager assured me it the correct part # for the 2022's.

I also talking with him about getting the Toyota hard tri-fold tonneau cover. He said those are made 3rd party and not by Toyota themselves. He said the only way to get them right now are either 1) have your new truck delivered from the factory with that option OR 2) take an existing one off a 2021 or older. They received a "bulletin" that they won't be able to order the tri-fold tonneau covers until sometime in Jan/Feb. I'm looking forward to ordering one. I've always had the soft covers previously.

Just sharing the news with folks from my local parts dept.

I noticed this issue too when I brought the Sparks P/Ns to my local dealership. The P/N I brought in for the DC Predator steps showed for the CrewMax in the parts system. The P/N I ordered for the Predator Steps for the Double Cab, which my local parts dept showed me the correct listing in the computer, was Toyota P/N PT925-34220.

What Tonneau cover did you order? I'm trying to order the tri-fold hard cover for a 6.5' bed, but my parts guy couldn't find a p/n in the system for it.

I think everything on Sparks is double cab on the running boards/tubes and if you change the last digit to go up 1, then it becomes the crewmax size. I got the factory tri-fold PT954-34220-02. I searched just the precursor part of the parts and I think I found the standard 6.5ft bed Trifold as the following info. May want to confirm with dealer.
    TUN TONC RG BED BLK
    Part Number: PT9543422102
    Supersession(s): PT954-34221-02

I started tweaking the p/n as well after I noticed the sequencing. Thanks for this. I'm planning on calling my dealershp on Monday when they reopen to see what they find when they pull up that p/n. Thanks again!

It's funny how different regions are. Some can order it and some can't.

I spoke to my local dealer today. They said, "Yeah, we see that part number in our system, but we can't order it yet. The system won't let us. It gives us an error." They basically told me to check back next month. When they navigate to the parts available using my year & model (2022 Double Cab w/ 6.5' bed) it doesn't pull up. Yet when I give them the part # directly, they can pull it up and it looks like it compatible for the 2022. Either way, they still can't order it.

On a side note...they couldn't order the all-weather floor mats either. Same story as above.

Just sharing my experience here in Nevada. I'll check back in a few weeks.

Must be an area thing. I called the dealership today to get an actual date of delivery as they didn't know if their Saturday delivery would be pushed to Monday or Tuesday. I can pick up the cover, runners, and bolts for the runners tomorrow. He noted stock level and the covers, SET had over 1000 of them in stock. It was roughly 400 of my runners.

Very likely. I can order that part number from some other Toyota dealers that sell online with reasonable shipping. I’m just reluctant to pull the trigger on a part number that my local dealer can’t tell me with 100% certainty will work. Especially since I can’t tell if there are differences in part numbers with and without the bed rail system. $1k gamble.

Definitely doing the Diamondback HD when it comes. I am also considering their shallow tool box to have some more storage options while still being off the floor fo things like 2x4s and the like.

Still undecided if I will go the Toyota rubber mat route or the Husky route. Thoughts?

I haven't seen Toyota's current mat offerings so I'm not sure how they compare to the Husky. In my last few trucks though, Weather Tech and Husky have been superior to OEM.

My husky mats are at least twice the thickness of Toyota’s all weather mat and Toyota’s don’t go far enough past brake and accelerator.

Do not over tighten is not a phrase for the factory. I have never had a bolt in so tight that I put three splits in a socket. Time to upgrade tools.

For those installing your tubes/runners, a couple pointers. Sparks says you need 8 bolts each side and they are sold separately but they are already on the underside of your truck. A 12mm socket should get them in and out no problem unless way over tightened at the factory. Mine came with no instructions and the dealer couldn’t bring them up either. The odd shaped bracket goes behind the front wheel well so you can identify sides. In my case the rear bracket didn’t line up to the pre-drilled holes. The last bracket needs a 1/2 inch socket to loosen two nuts on the bottom so the bracket can be slide to the end. You will want to do this first as another bolt and other parts will prevent it from sliding once other nuts are tightened. The top bolt on the two opposing sides can be left only half way out and this runner had brackets that allowed the step to catch those so you didn’t have to hold the weight of the steps while lining up bolts. Overall looks good.

Cover went on today, again zero instructions from Toyota. Remove the side rails, replace with the new ones, align the new rails to the back of the bed, tighten. I then attacked the clip brackets for when it’s open, the. The drop down bolts at the back window. Once the cover was down and it all lined up, attached the bed rail system again. Not to bad getting it in, looks nice.
