    It's vehicle registration time again, whoopie doo! And just like clockwork, two days after my renewal shows up, (emissions test required), the dreaded check engine light comes on. Just my rotten luck I guess. This happens every two years without fail, and every time it costs me $$$ to supposedly "fix it", which lasts exactly two years... I can't wait to see how much it costs this time. I don't really need an answer, just someone to commiserate with...

    It might just be a simple leak that can get easily fixed. Either that or a need for O2 sensors.

    Either way, try not to assume the worse.

    Happened to me in 2019 for the 1st time (with this truck at least). 8 days beforehand. Fortunately, just one O2 sensor out of 4 was bad so a cheap fix.

    If you don’t have a code reader maybe pick one up, they’re super cheap now, that way you can try to fix it yourself before taking it to a shop.
