Truck camper Suspension Ugrade

I just bought a pop up slide in camper for my 2011 Tundra. I'm all over the map on Suspension upgrades for the truck. The dry wieght of the camper is 1350lbs. I'll be pushing 2000 pounds with water gear and my "Bro's" on board. The camper is "off road capable" and I'd like to get into some of that. Airbags were a recommendation, but I'm a bit Leary of leaks and other issues. Hellwig Helper springs were also recommended and also a combination of both airbags and helper springs. I also heard I need a sway bar. I'd like a descent ride when the camper is off the truck if that's possible.

so i run air bags with day star cradles and I wheel and carry weight and pull trailers. its the simple and easy solution, I suggest the same. Also make sure you get the kit where you can individually air up the bags so you can adjust the level of the rear of the truck.

no issues, i would run the daystar craddles though they help with offroad articulation

I'm with Bruce on that. I too tow close to a 8K travel trailer and off-road once unhooked and deflated. Cradles are a must if off-roading.

I ran the firestone riderite with my Tacoma with no issues. Basic install if you have the right tools. They were around $250 from Amazon. I didn't use the cradles like others have recommended but if I still had my camper and Tacoma I would have eventually installed them.

seriously awesome makes for towing and heavy loads super easy... its a very simple upgrade and install

 

Ditto on the airbags with daystar cradles
Makes it all possible to have a load and use it.

I’ve got a hawk camper on my truck and I’m on the same boat as OP. I think I too am leaning in the same direction with cradles and an add-a-leaf. Do any of you guys have a lift as well? I’m installing the bilstein 5160s in the rear and would like to add 1.5” of lift with some toytec shackles. Any suggestions?

picking up my Hawk in a few weeks and need to get on this. Thinking of adding the black Sumo’s to get me through till the rest of the suspension upgrades.
