I don't think is thread worthy, but pumped with the family gifts to me.

Today is fucked up. I'm out on the porch smoking, drinking a beer in a T-shirt, and under wear listening to coyotes.

I love country living, but no Christmas calls for skivvies and porch activities. That's just wrong.

I'll gladly trade you for my ice slicked roads and sheet of ice I needed to dethaw off my truck this morning.

I took a back road corner too fast on my way to my Aunt's house and almost took out a front yard snowman by someone's mailbox in the slide out.

I wanted to do the headers this week.. but no that’s on hold. I’d love to do my reverse camera and hopefully fix it. But no, I don’t have the pins I need. (@daveeasa i need to get with you to figure my pins out). I want to do the big 2 upgrade… but I was going to do that with the p/s lines and headers at the same time. Bah

I did a nice f-up shorting my alternator power lead to the alternator chassis today, installing the voltage boost mods. Battery still tests OK, it was just a momentary short but it left a nice mark on the sequoia alternator. Hope everything still works...

Doesn't the alternator have a fuse to protect it?

This would be the bigass power wire between alternator and battery. Thought not big bigass yet. stock bigass. Hoping it cranks. We'll find out if I can at least get the tailgate lock buttoned up and harnesses run, the most important things to do with daylight.

Looking for headlight suggestions if you guys have any, my wife is fed up with the stock halogens.

Would like to go with new LED housings from BXbuilt but they have a 18-20 week lead time.
    Screenshot_20211226-183255_Instagram.jpg
    Screenshot_20211226-170640_Chrome.jpg
Looking at the Morimoto 2Stroke 3.0 LED also.
    Screenshot_20211226-171001_Chrome.jpg
Wouldn't be against some quality, bright white halogens either for a more budget friendly option.
    Thanks for any input. :hattip:

So the $100 voltage boost mods alternator booster boils down to this. I’m not overly impressed to be honest. Two wires to one wire with what I assume is a diode. Ok. Seems like a bunch of marketing I guess.

would be nice to find the 3 position male though. I’d like to use that for a plug and play conversion harness. But I’ll probably use this since I have it. Once I fix my fuse problem.

I went thru probably $250 worth of different bulbs on my search and ended up with mini projector led bulbs.
CO LIGHT Pair H4/9003/HB2 LED... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DFRJ77T?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It’s basically a projector in stock housings without having to do a full retrofit. Super bright with clean cutoff, and high beams blast. If you go this route, you do have to yank out the little shield inside the stock housing, which isn’t bad, but if you ever wanted to go back to halogens, you’d have to split the housings (after oven baking them) in order to reinstall that shield.
Simplest is just to get a better halogen bulb. I tried a bunch of different halogen bulbs, but there were two that really outshined the rest (pun intended).
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-OSRAM-O...ght-OE-REPLACEMENT-XX701-A1329D-/193848589713
These kick ass. They’re 100/90w rather than the standard 60/55w, huge difference. Still a very slight hint of yellow. Don’t believe they’re sold in stores in the US. Bought mine on Epay.

    https://www.autozone.com/collision-body-parts-and-hardware/headlight/p/silverstar-zxe-headlight-and-fog-light-bulb-9003szgold-2/798956_0_0
These are IMO the best halogens available, and they’re sold at any local auto part store, possibly even wallyworld. The brightest white you’ll find, no yellow, not at all blue either.
    How much?
    Mini projector LED’s - $65 shipped
    Osram 100w - around $35 shipped.
Sylvania zXe’s - $75 you could get them shipped but no need.
    Hope this helps

If you don' go that route, retrofits aren't very hard at all. I waited forever to do it on my old truck because I was so worried about screwing it up, but it was so much easier than I feared.

Best upgrade on the Sequoia, stock headlights were just awful.

I'm assuming you're eastern WA so I'd be worried about LED's not melting snow.

I also just installed a set of these. I don’t drive at night much, but recently have a few times and literally kept checking to make sure my lights were turned on because they were so dim.

These mini projectors are alright, a worthwhile quick fix to dim stock lights I’d say.
I had to remove the headlights to get the cups out, and I totally mangled the cups taking them out, they are not reusable in my case, but my headlights are original and I figured if these didn’t work I would just replace the whole assemblies.
I aimed these a bit low because I don’t want to blind others, but they have a nice cutoff and are nice and bright. I got 5000k so they’re nice and white.
I haven’t driven with them much yet, but what I have done I can say the low beams are a major improvement, maybe a bit of a narrower beam than stock, high beams are alright but not as vastly improved as the low, although still better than stock.
My main concern is if they break you have to use the same type, which aren’t as readily available as stock bulbs, I’m considering ordering another set as a backup just in case.

Porches are best when they don't face neighbors.
Few things can ruin a peaceful morning quite like people.
