    • Are the tow hooks free with the purchase of a skid plate or is there an extra charge for the tow hooks?

Maybe the skid plate will be mounted to the frame in a plenty strong fashion? :monocle:

Apparently you've never been "out west" before. Lets just look at Washington State for example, as that is were I am from. We have rainforest, sand dunes, wet lands, mountains, deserts, grass lands and beaches. Everyone of those places someone will need pulled out at least once. We are not the dry Sahara out here. And even in the dry areas, there are other reasons for getting stuck. Powdered dirt that sinks your truck to the frame for example. But even in the driest years like this year, every fall and winter we get rain, sleet, snow ect that makes all these terrains a challenge. Trust me, out west gets more remote than back east.

Yep. Same for Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada. It’s easy to end up a long ways from anywhere. I doubt the gumbo in the south is any worse than the gumbo in the Missouri breaks, Owyhees, or Bighorn Basin.

Yeah bentonite gumbo is as bad or worse than red clay.

while this is very true, I have spent 35 of my 35 years in Colorado, Montana and Idaho. 8 of those years I drove MT, ID and WY year round with a trailer behind me. I have gotten myself stuck 4x ever in my life.
    1) swerving off the road in a snowstorm to miss hitting a truck in my 4Runner, was pulled out the way I came
    2) slid into a snow bank looking at the Madison river below quake lake- again pulled out in reverse
    3) stuck myself good in a Feild heading into pick up goose decoys, pulled out in reverse
    4) high centered + muddy ruts and pulled myself out with a winch.

tow hooks are awesome to have, but I have never used mine. Soon enough C4 fab will have a front bumper for those trucks to mount a winch and 2 tow hook points

I was mainly talking about out west desert type stuff but either way all I know is that I’ve had to use my tow hooks before. I guess the more you go hunting/ fishing remote places, the more you increase your likelihood of needing them. Maybe you just don’t go as much as me, I don’t know.

You're right, you don't know! I would say I am out more than the average person. I don't hunt multiple states, but I am out a lot, all year around. Hunting, hiking, camping is a passion. I try to go where others don't/can't go. Like @JLS in WA said, sometimes you are a long ways away from amenities and were others travel regularly. I have been to places were I didn't see a single vehicle for days on end. But I like it that way.

Pretty much. You remember what Luke's X-Wing look like? Yeah, I've seen a D9 CAT look like that.

I don't think it did. I remember they just hooked onto the big ripper on the back and told the recovery dozer's operator to "send 'er".

To jump in here because I was half awake after my Christmas nap, yes, it would attach to many point on the frame including the bumper support. I wouldn’t make it or say I would make if I didn’t think I could make a tow hook that could do the same or more than a standard tow hook.

To that end, I have considered making a tow hook add on without the skid plate, but it all comes down to what I find and design

Isn't there a front air dam that deploys at 40 mph somewhere behind the grille on a 2022? I thought that was why no front hookers.
Along those lines...why isn't there a wench on the front, too? I see a lot of Chevies equipped with wenches ---Hooked On Phonics

It was done by the guy tounge-in-cheek as one of the reasons to pick a Raptor over a Pro. 1 single post. Then you flipped out. There are a few of you who get triggered anytime it's mentioned.

I think he may be a secret tow hook guy. He just hasn’t come out of the closet yet.
He showing all the signs the way he keeps reading this thread, but acting like he wants nothing to do with it.

Obviously this was an example of why all vehicles need tow hooks. Also drag trailers around in the mud long enough and you will get stuck, I don't care what you are driving.
