So as a differential retard... the 3.727 on the V6 is low gearing, and any higher gearing will make it sluggish?

using the vin off the v6 you have 4.10s.

    the v8 should be 3.91

Depends on what gear chart you look up.

I've been getting a little bit of a bump as I come to a stop. It feels like it did a few years ago when I fixed it by greasing my slip yoke. Went ahead and did that yesterday again along with my SPC ball joints.

I also couldn't let Noah be the only one working on his truck this Christmas so today I'm getting the truck ready to rebuild the rear brakes. @jpink is coming over tomorrow.

I'm slightly concerned this isn't going to fix my SpongeBob pedal. I just had my wife press the parking brake while I watched and the self adjusters appear to be working exactly like they are supposed to. Curious to get @Aerindel thoughts on that. The bell cranks are moving like they should.

I guess if nothing else, it's good maintenance. My truck turns 20 next month.

Looked at my remote start lock wires in my kickpanel trying to make sense of it. My wire colors don't seem to match the various wiring diagrams I have found online. The pictures I have found don't match my plugs on my truck. May have to just leave it alone. Sigh.

After a 10 year break, I do as well. Much to love. It only sucks in tight parking lots and it’s not the ideal people hauler. More of an issue for me than you. Fantastic trick for a rural location.

If my plan works out the way I want it to then this truck will br national one day. I've got plenty of room for state park and states visited stickers now with the leer. Lol

Testing with the drums off only tells you that nothing is stuck.

Even a loose parking brake cable can move the lever far enough to click the adjuster if the drums are off because without the drums there is no resistance and nothing for the shoes to push against and stop the lever from moving.

Of course its also possible you have master cylinder issues etc...but you have to rule out adjustment problems first.

Mine does as well. Is there a way with the VIN to tell how far apart they are in build quantity?

Edit: I looked it up. Looks like I'm in the 270k range. I'm guessing that's the total number built since 2000. I could be way off.

Uh.... P0125, exhaust, suspension, body work...

Not in that order, but all items are costly........

Whats the p0125? Body work I imagine is low priority. Suspension is easy and cost really depends on what you want and your skill level. Which I know you got this.

Body work is low priority yes. Minus the gaping hole in my passenger side Rocker panel... I am planning on Alcan leaf springs again. Possibly airbags much, much further down the road. I doubt I'd ever get that heavy unless I was towing a parts truck back from Colorado or Tennessee.

Dobinsons springs up front reusing my existing 5100s. I already have my SPC upper arms part of that group buy that @daveeasa put together. Still waiting on 1stGenOffroad order to show up which I'm in no rush...

I need to figure out something on the CV axles. All four boots are torn, and slinging grease. @empty_lord reccomends just replacing them, but not sure if I want to go OEM or not if I'm lifting it (which it's already lifted. I'm just going to recreate the lift in a much less dump truck style ride.) I'd like to get something with a high angle boot. I know I saw a post or something regarding that.

As far P0125... I've changed the engine coolant sensor, I've changed the Oxygen sensors and am getting live data back (still have not verified that it is in "spec" via the FSM. Other items on my plate.) I've changed the MAF.

Might be time to see if I can get lucky with an Flea-bay ECM.... if my 02 sensor live data is coming back in spec. I have no reason to believe that it's not. I'm just not sure what else it could be.

Assuming CV boots are different from tie rod boots, I suppose I’ll want some too? If they are the same then I guess I have OEM till they bleed?

Funny story, wife was planning to take both kids to Topanga canyon tomorrow (where she grew up) and overnight. Some Covid exposure bs has canned the overnight and might end up canning the whole trip. I went from a full day and night of uninterrupted truck mod time to maybe another day of watching kids fight and listening to them cry about how hard it is to come walk the dog with me.

I recommend a set of CV s from Napa. They're lifetime warranteed so if they break it's free for a new set with return of the broken set. I've used em and abused em on my rig now for 3 years and I'm lifted 3 inches in front. So far so good. Not an issue yet. But if you just wanna rebuild your CVs I have a high angle boots kit sitting around I could send ya for like $50 shipped. Then there's also CVJ for high angle CVs
