Go drive one a little more than 2 miles and see for yourself.
    The 14" screen is binding=bull
The salesman took a long time pulling it off the platform=I would as well
The hood was insanely long and visibility was not good=adjust your seat maybe?
It drove very smooth, well planted and composed but felt like a boat. Was not snappy, just kind of took it’s time unless you pressed the skinny pedal.=you're suppose to press the pedal=drama at its best...boat-skinny pedal-snappy-I just snotted out my nose!

That is just the first part and all I care to call bloated drama.

For the throttle part it's all about what you're used to. I used to have a 2010 and they changed the throttle mapping in 2014 so my 2016 felt sluggish to me. Now if you engage tow/haul you get the old snappy pedal feel back like the 2010 had. In the 3rd gens I bet it changes significantly with the drive modes - for comparison in F150's if you put it in wet/snow mode you have to press the pedal almost 50% to really start accelerating, but put it in sport and you get the same response at 5% pushing on the pedal.

I haven’t had a chance to try and drive one yet. With respect to the hood design, my 2018 Silverado suffers from a shitty hood design that severely limits visibility for off roading. In fairness, adjusting the seat doesn’t remedy the issue. I’m curious so see how the Tundra compares.

I drove a 2500 Dodge Quad Cab long box for 10 years. Talk about a boat, but I took that thing in some pretty hairy places. It was a breath of fresh air going to the Tundra for nimble turns. I’m sure the CM LB feels big relative to the 1st Gen.

I had a 2001 F250 everything and that was a school bus! This Tundra is not even close to that. I offered the seat adjustment as a joke, it's not a VW bug but it's fine for visibility. I will agree that it's not nearly as nimble as 2011 Tundra. Need to extend my blacktop to make it in the garage door without backing up.

No drama here bro! It wasn’t too much truck for me and I have driven plenty of Jeeps off road in difficult situations. Just a comparison, it felt big. I’m used to a more athletic truck. Notice how I’m not attacking you. I don’t need to. Merry Christmas to everyone.

Offroading is a broad term these days. There are those who do almost nothing but rock crawling and challenge themselves and their vehicles (like that short video our Colorado moderator has linked in his signature with that crazy almost vertical climb) and then there are people who race on dirt roads with maybe a dune or two, or drive a moderate difficulty trail. Both are "off-roading" but have vastly different vehicle specs and requirements. People into the former group aren't doing that with Tundras or Raptors, at least not as a first (or second, or third, or forth, or fifth or seventeeth) choice.

6A902DEA-1DF1-4D70-905D-3FA689D59515.jpg I have been on the lookout for the new Tundra and randomly saw one earlier today in Greensboro. I believe it’s an SR with XP Package (what are the odds)

No drama here bro, I’ve driven plenty of trucks. The 2.5 Gen (attached) I drove the day before at the same dealership felt smaller and more nimble, the cabin felt larger. This is just an honest comparison. My comparison should not affect you, everyone is different. The 22 is a great truck don’t get carried away. Also dealer markup is only $5k at this dealer. I just wanted to explain that I need to spend more money in mods to do what I want with it in the off road department. Merry Christmas guys.

Im going to try this next time I drive the 22. Don’t get me wrong it has tons of power just not that initial jolt at first. The 22 is fast, needs getting use to, my buddies 4Runner was the same way, you have to push a bit more on the gas and it takes off. All these girls are different.

Wonder if that is turbo lag or traction control limiting power at take off.

The manager said only $5k over MSRP. That’s not bad because Toyota of Orange, Garden Grove, Elmore and Huntington Beach all want +20k. I’m not an idiot, that’s Highway Robbery. I can wait…..

Anything over msrp is horribly high priced. I think you would notice the truck feeling smaller with another configuration that’s 1’ shorter. The sluggish start is most likely due to the much lower first gear and tune that avoids burning rubber every time you put the pedal down lol

It's all about fuel economy. Instead of letting us decide how much fuel we want to use they change the throttle mapping so it's not linear

Yes, lots of people agree and are saying the same.

And that is still troubling because the dealers are laughing their asses off that now MSRP is okay. MSRP is NOT okay! That was historically a STARTING point and you went DOWN from there. Don't tell me "oh times have changed, blah blah." Folks are making them change by so easily accepting this "new normal" BS. If everyone would take a breath and hold off, it would only take a few weeks to FORCE it back to normal. How would you feel if the factory suddenly jumped prices $5000 or $10000 overnight? Don't worry about the car dealers having less inventory, they'll be fine. They have less employees too and they're still sitting on huge piles of cash from before all of this. They'll be fine.

I dig the all black look. The only thing I’d want to change would be to have the honeycomb style grill.

However, the words Badass and minivans used in the same sentence is a first.....:D

Mostly Excited about this truck. Want to keep learning more.

Any real world highway mpg reports coming in yet?

How are the new led headlights?

Lastly curious how folks are finding the lane following and adaptive cruise control. Tried it on a Lexus RX300 2 years back. At least on a short trip seemed like it had some pretty significant limitations of what it could and could not do one would need to be well aware of.
