He will bring the wrath of Canada upon you.

Note: The wrath of Canada is a brand of whip cream.

You're a strong, independent woman. Put yourself down.

    I prefer Dairyland whip cream.

If tow hooks were actually a part of the 2022 design, whoever is in charge of Canadian allocations and packaging would make sure we couldn't have them even if we wanted them.

That’s like the guy in the tfl video above.
He said something like you don’t care about them until you need them. And that every other 4x4 has them.

Didn't watch the video but from the pic, it looks like there may have been a discussion about converting them to handy exterior cup holders? Not doing that is a major miss in my book. Freaking Toyota.

I've only ever had to use my tow hooks to pull someone else out. Maybe the conversation at Toyota went something like this...

Engineer #1: "Hey, what's that under the front bumper on the Tundra?"
Engineer #2: "Carl, It's called 'ground clearance'. :annoyed:I already told you. We can't get rid of that on a 4x4 truck. You'd know that if you hadn't been working on the Prius ever since you were hired."

Engineer #1: "No, not that. You told me about 'ground clearance' last week. (points) Those things, right there?"

Engineer #2:"Carl. You're an idiot. Those are retrieval points."

Engineer #1: "What are they for?''

Engineer #2: (sighs) "You use them when you're broke down or stuck so another truck can hook on to your truck and pull it without damaging anything. All of the domestic trucks have them too."

Engineer #1: (blinks and scowls, confused) "Soooooo.... Why are they on the Tundra then?"

Engineer #2: (prolonged silence :facepalm:then shouts) "SON OF A.....HEY MIKE!..."

He talks about how it may only save 8 to 10 dollars per truck to not include them but adds up to millions over all the trucks during the life cycle. Makes no sense because they could just as easily add 10 bucks to the price and be in the same boat. I’d gladly pay and extra $8 - 10, to have them.

David mentions the tow hooks cutting through things like a katana in the event of a collision.

You know what, that’s a good reason to not have tow hooks on the front of the truck.

Instead I want actual katana’s mounted to the front. Tow hooks are for pussies if you can have swords instead.

Seems like if the collision is bad enough that the tow hooks get involved in the damage it's kind of a moot point.

Very smart guy, and he's probably right about the reasons, but he lost me when he thought we cared about pedestrians and cyclists. :)

But add a transmission cooler, seat back purse, and folding rear seats and now your at $100 extra dollars.

There is a slight possibility you’ve gone off the topic of tow hooks.

Let’s say they save 10 mil in the long run by not adding them. Couldn’t they add them and just add a few dollars or whatever the cost to the truck and get they 10 mil back and end up with the same money in the long run. When paying high sixties for a truck I doubt 10 or 20 buck extra would matter.

Pedestrian devouring teeth, multiple recovery points, it’ll fit in the space of the current grill, and it’ll look a lot better than those “angry grill” things I see on every jeep and way too many F350’s around here.

How about you just let this little feud end, have an adult beverage, and partake in some Holiday shenanigans like the rest of us? Trust me, life's too short to be so angry over trivial shit like this. Cheers.

Drove from Utah to Colorado through a blizzard today that shut down the interstate. On a detour route we came across some poor fuckers that had gone off the road so pulled over to help, they had already called a tow truck but I said I could pull them out if they wanted... Except they didn't have any recovery points on the RAV4 they had, and they didn't want me to pull on the control arm so it was decided to leave them and wait for the tow truck. I had seen this thread earlier and didn't comment, but experienced this issue today. If that had been a Tundra he would've been just as SOL as the little car they had. Kind of funny, and pathetic.
