That's one option. Would probably be better to just sell everything EXCEPT the Tundra and move south to a place where it doesn't snow.

Well if it's white we all know he is screwed and it probably, most likely is, the truck.

For many years I drove a Crown Vic on Cascade concrete responding to many, many, wrecked 4x4 trucks. I never chained up my patrol car. So many of the "drivers" would blame the road conditions. I would point out that I responded in a rear wheel drive car and arrived safely.

I have driven my Tundra on WA, MT, ID, and UT winter roads, rarely engaging 4wd, never a problem.

Don't blame the truck because you don't know how to drive on snow/ice.

I drove a FWD 2007 Sienna for 10y in the snow. Not a single accident, not a single hit snow bank, never got stuck, never needed to get pulled out of anywhere.

It was embarrassing sometimes though, when I would be spinning my tires going up a 3 degree incline at a Winnipeg intersection (flattest city in Canada) and would have to back up and take a run at it...but I made it work.

Driving a Tundra is an eye opener as to how bad that thing really was in the snow. It plows through the snow and 4WD conquers most icy roads I encounter. It's actually fun to head out after a snowfall.

Let's not exaggerate. It's 7.5 months out of the year.

You are so right! I can't wait for it to snow to have fun in the tundra and disengage all the safety stuff! The only way to make it more fun in the snow is to add a rear locker and it will be donut City! My dealer said their master technician can install a rear locker too!

Didn't read the entire thread so forgive me if already mentioned...

Some don't realize this, but when you switch to 4WD, traction control is still active. You need to press and hold the ALSD button for 3 seconds when stopped after you switch to 4WD to disable. This was my biggest complaint when I got my first Tundra in 2008. Truck would not allow me to power through a corner on a snow covered road...it would start to drift toward the shoulder, ditch or curb. No need for traction control in 4WD in my opinion. Other than that, I've found the 4WD system in these Tundras to be amazing. Good luck!

Guys probably from the Mid Atlantic Eastern Seaboard. Where it snows twice a year and causes mass hysteria. I know, I live here and it's not pretty.

Try putting it in four wheel drive it works much better when driving in the snow. The Tundra's have to be operated a little bit different than the Subaru's.

I wish someone had told me this before I moved to the mountains in Colorado and bought my 5th Toyota truck... I'm apparently in mortal danger. Seems I'm doing it wrong by using beast mode, my shifter, and using Falken Wildpeaks, which apparently stick to the road like glue. I will admit the ABS is stupid, but I've hated ABS in every truck and vehicle I've ever owned, including my Dodge work truck. It's nanny mode at its worst. So I just use the, umm, what are they called, remind me, oh yah, the gears to slow the truck down, then I never touch the brakes, best way to disable ABS I've found.
